GM tries to pitch Camaro to gay men

Another reason to buy a Mustang, its just the right thing to do! lol...I cant help but notice the ad for the "all new Camaro!" on this page right above where Im typing lol. This is a Mustang Forum, get that **** out of here.

I guess I'm in the minority here. I don't think the new "C" is that bad looking. The retro styling reminds me of the cars of the 60's. With that said, I had a chance to sit in one at the KC auto show last March. I didn't care for the plastic interior and the seats. It just didn't fit the car. I work right next to the GM plant and I had a chance to see alot of Camero's. The cars a parked outside waiting to be ship by transport trucks or the railroad. I saw a couple of SS models that didn't look to bad. Just my 2 cents. Pearl02.

2010 Mustang:

An exciting new old look

You don’t redesign a classic look. You carefully refine it. The new look of Mustang is aggressive and eye-catching, but it’s all Mustang.

* More angular power dome hood
* New wheel designs: 17, 18 and 19 inches.
* Sequential rear turn signal
* Restyled chrome pony badge

And nobody finds this "gay?"

The whole "that's gay/EPIC/FAIL" thing got old a long time ago.

"Discussions" like this just make me wonder why I bother to participate.

That said, the local dealer has one, I like it. I'm not a real fan of "retro" styling, but I think it pulls it off well. Not as well as the Challenger, but well. There's a Challenger SRT at the Dodge dealer too, I've been trying to get a ride/test drive in them. No luck so far...

As for the new Mustangs, I just can't get over the back end up them...Maybe it'll grow on my, time will tell. The 05-09s grew on me (took a while though), but the '10s...ehgh.

I think of the three, I'm not really impressed with any of them. They're all big, bulky, and heavy as hell.

I guess when you're on a car-specific forum, you're bound to get hardcore fanboyism.

I'm sure the camaro forums are the same.

It just pains me that people are so close-minded they can't see past their own bias and offer something objective, rather than offensive.

So many straight people in the world. I happen to be bisexual and think it's a great idea to list famous people that are gay, lesbian, or bisexual as long as it is with their consent and said themselves. It's good to know that someone famous is was like you to an extent.

famous gay men

WOW, bringing back from the dead......

On a side note, this just reminds me of how many tool bags are so brand loyal after re-reading this thread. Makes me want to puke. Get it at the GM sites as well.

If you want to talk about "Gay" people, it's purely the anti opposite brand people. I love getting together with all guys cars, fords, GMs, exotics, imports.

I've always said the same thing Winters. People that are blindly brand loyal are only screwing themselves and makes them look foolish.

Yeah, but that's just because you and Winters are ghey :D

J/k man, I couldn't agree more. In fact, between the wife and I we had a GM vehicle ('96 Grand Prix GTP - now sold) and currently have a Chrysler ('95 New Yorker), Dodge ('06 R/T Charger), and my '98 Mustang. Each car has things that I like and dislike about them. :nice:

to change the subject a bit...and add to this undead thread...

I get liking different brands and cars, heck I'd kill for another first gen 4-4-2 or GTO...but I don't get going to a brand specific site and knocking guys for knocking the "competition"...it'd like going to a Yankee's fan site and not expecting people to bash the Red Socks...it's no biggie but it always makes me wonder... ;)

but I don't get going to a brand specific site and knocking guys for knocking the "competition"

I think it is just knocking guys that are ignorant, unlike yourself that knows the difference. That is all.:flag:

The reason I troll here, is because I still like the guys here, and many of them are my friends in life, not just on the net.

I think the Camaro, The Challenger, and the Mustang are all ugly because it's a cop-out to redesign something old. I never got into the "retro" thing. I mean, when you think about it, who did the original "retro" people have to redesign their cars from? They had nobody so their ideas were all fresh. Designers these days are too lazy to come up with new styles so everything is now "retro". I'll admit it was kinda cool at first and a bit interesting to revive the market. But it should have only lasted a couple years at the most. It looks like it's gonna keep going indefinitely so in 20 years there's probably gonna be a retro "Fox body" or "New Edge"...and then we'll do it all over again...with that said I think the Camaros is the hottest of the three followed by the CHallenger, and lastly the Mustang. However, I would get the Mustang if I had to choose.

If you play fantasy sports, you can root for your home team while still seeing the value and quality of the competition, and respecting it. Easy to do the same in the car world. Hard to say the Mustang is better than the Camaro in EVERY way, or any other car comparison (if you include price).

If the insults fun and light-hearted, it is what it is. If you seriously hate on the competition, I think your time could be better spent.

Some of the responses on here are very insulting. I joined this site to talk about cars, not fish sticks and ghey fish, and whatever ignorant remarks there are. As a lesbian, I get crap all the time from guys but little do they know, there are plenty of in-the-closet mechanics out there that are too scared to come out because of people's ignorance. If you work in a garage, then you obviously love cars, so let it be about that and nothing more.

Now, my 2 cents on the Camaro. I'm a huge Camaro fan, I had a 30th Anniversary V6 RS with the Y87 package and waited forever for the 5th gen to come out. It's not the greatest design but its ok. The Mustang definately has the aggressive "retro" look. But if I had to pick a new retro muscle car simply based on looks, it would be the Challenger...

The car high performance enthusiast world is male dominated and among males it is about masculinity. There are a lot of homosexuals who are enthusiasts as well but the vast majority of us on here are heterosexual males. There's gonna be comments about stuff being "gay" or "girly", there's gonna be comments and pics of scantily clad well endowed women, there's gonna be talk about beer, sex, street racing, ass kicking, and so on...this will never change. I expect to see it and even find myself engaging in it at times, normal reaction. For the most part it is harmless, nobody on here has said anything violent or anything that could be considered hateful. If there were any such comments, that person would have been rebuked by other members or even the moderators. Nobody needs to come out of the closet or confess their personal sexual orientation on here because that is YOUR business. If you are offended then just don't waste your time reading the post or commenting on it...unless of course the comments are truly reprehensible.
