Highly Disappointed in AM

Well, all I can say is make sure you read every fine print and interpret shipping procedures exaclty as they do otherwise you will get burnt just like I did. I paid for expedited shipping guaranteed in 2 days. Ordered on Wednesday night and expected it to arrive in 2 business days which would be on friday...but nope they don't count the first day so low and behold I paid for nothing and won't get my parts in time to finish up my car this weekend. Very frustrated and disappointed in them. Definately not going to order my wheel/tires from them now! Plus it states right in their little description that it would be shipped either UPS or USPS and if they had shipped it priority 2nd day USPS then it would have came Saturday, but nope they screwed my over and sent it UPS who doesn't deliver on Saturdays. Also it stated that it would be shipped by air if guranteed in 2 days and they sent it ground which is almost always 3 to 5 days....so again very disappointing.

I live in Ohio as well, I've always had my stuff in 3 days or less with there free shipping. I've never had any bad experiences with AM. I'm kinda on there side anyhow, how can u order it Wednesday night and expect it to ship out Thursday morning"? They work normal business hours and probably didn't even receive your order till Thursday morning. I'm betting you will have your items before you know it. AM is a very upstanding company and I've ordered countless parts from them and will continue. Call the costumer service and maybe try to work something out with them.

Believe me I understand being anxious for an ordered part, but.... I think believing it would be here today was wishful thinking. You ordered it on Wednesday night, knowing they use UPS so no Saturday delivery. Things come so fast these days with standard ground that it's kind of silly to pay for expedited shipping. I've had 2 or 3 orders through AM and the parts/delivery were top notch.

I'll be shocked if it isn't at your door Monday before lunch!:nice:

i dont see how any of this is AMs fault?

Start complaining about UPS, not AM theyve got nothing to do with it. Its UPS' system that you should have a beef with, not with such a reputable vendor that American Muscle is.

Thats why I always make sure to order at the beginning of the week, and not at night

Not wishful thinking...i ordered it expecting it in 2 days...and yes they did recieve and process the order that very night because I have an email right back right after i order it. I know it wouldn't be sent out until the next day, but thought that would be one of the two days that i paid extra for. Sorry, but their standard delivery took over 7 days the last time I just ordered some things from them about 2 weeks ago and was very displeased about the amount of time it took for that....but I know that was USPS's fault and not theirs on that occasion....that is why I paid extra this time to ensure it getting here sooner with no avail. And yes I already talked to the guy on the phone at AM and he wasn't any help and told me he could understand why I would be upset about it and said there was nothing he could do. They do ship both ways...so not understanding by the one comment on that "I knew they shipped UPS" no i didn't because they ship both ways....again part of my frustration. Not really upset at them, but just wish things were a little clearer when ordering....and not having to read tons of information after the fact that I was wasting money on expedited shipping when they didn't count the first day until I had already ordered and paid for it is all. I even explained all this to him and he still couldn't do anything...that's the reason for my post to make others aware if they wanted expedited shipping to add another day if they order after 4p.m. eastern time. That's all I am trying to say here. What part of Ohio do you live? Cause USPS up here in NW Ohio sucks big time...the last shipment went from Columbus which is only about 1.5 hours from where i live and they sent it all the way up to Toledo, then back down to my local post office...causing a 2 day delay. They did this for both packages I ordered from them and they sent out USPS not UPS. He also stated that anything under 4 lbs they shipped USPS and anything over that went UPS...again not spelled out on their website either....just wish they would have used a little more common sense when I paid to have it expedited and they could have used USPS 2 day priorty which I paid 18 bucks for shipping and that would have covered that easily and would have been delivered on Saturday...not Monday....

Thanks,
Dan

I'm from Canton, OH. Seems like its the delivery service that screwing you over not AM. What did you order? If you live in NW Ohio, Summit Racing in Tallmadge is a great place to get parts from when your in a pinch. That's if you live close enough to drive there. They usually have the parts you need in stock ready to go for pickup when there.

If you ordered it Wednesday night it has to be dropped off and put into the system Thursday. It will be out into a sort Thursday night/Friday morning, and will be on a 18 wheeler Friday day. Either Saturday day or Sunday night(whichever UPS works) it will be dropped off at a hub, resorted, and sent out to a depot for delivery the next day. That in a nutshell is 2 day shipping.

Yeah, I get that now...just when ordering it said guaranteed in 2 business days and I thought wrong and counted thursday and friday as 2 business days and if they sent out like they did last 2 packages thru USPS then it would be delivered on Saturday. It's done and over now...not complaining necessarily about AM, but just really wanted to get things done this weekend is all...and finally got the green light from the old lady to order them on Wednesday evening after I got off work. No, the regular mail thru USPS is such a joke anymore it's rediculous. I ordered the 14" billet antenna, new running horse for my screwed up mach 1 grill delete kit which i previously got burnt on thru BOI, and ordered the sequential tail light harness (plug-n-play) which it took 7 days to get the first time around. This time I ordered the Tinted tails since I already had the stockers out to do the sequential tail light mod and picked up a set of smoked fog lights as well...so I've spent over 400 bucks thru them the last couple of weeks and just wanted to get things quicker than the last time is all.

Technically a 'business day' is over at 5pm and if UPS has already picked up from them then there is nothing that AM can do past that. It sucks but just how it is, only time you can get it shipped out the same day you order it is order it by noonish I would say eastern time. Only thing I think they could have done was upgraded the shipping to next day but that would have cost someone and depending on the size would have been extremely pricy.

Yeah I have to say, I don't see how it's AM's fault either. As far as them being any more clear on the shipping, they give it free. lol Them saying FREE is good enough.

Oh well, you live and learn man. At least you know you have a part coming.

Fine guys...I see you don't understand my point of view....it wasn't free...I paid them extra for a service that I am not getting really any benefit from.....if it were your dime you would understand too....I am not trying to hate on them at all...please believe that...their products are very nice and of great quality...have no problems with that at all. Just very upset about the circumstances which even the guy from American Muscle agreed with me on weren't really fair either.

Thanks,
Dan

OP - I think everyone understands you paid extra for a supposed "quicker" delivery time. But, based on when you placed the actual order (Wed night), the actual S&H process wasn't going to meet your expectations.

If you thought you were cutting it close when placing the order (and hindsight is always 20/20, lesson learned), you should have contacted the vendor prior to ordering by phone (if possible, again by the end of a "normal" business day, typically 5pm) to speak with a customer service rep.

Sounds like you talked to them after placing the order and their response is that their hands are tied (which makes sense, because the package has already left).

Everyone can relate to venting about unpleasant shopping experiences, but you're gonna have to chalk this one up to being one of life's little lessons and remember to read all of the applicable S&H information prior to ordering online (this goes for ANY online product ordering).

I think your S&H expectations were a little off to begin with or you assumed incorrectly, no offense.

american muscle being a business, likely has a daily pickup. usually this is close to the end of the day. most places i am referencing have a daily pick-up after 12 pm. if you read technical details on ups site about expedited shipping, they generally say if it's placed before "X" time.

here is why your expectations are not realistic. next day air must be processed before i believe, 10 am to arrive the following day. that is what you expected out of your package that you paid for with 2 day air. ie; thursday process, friday delivery. thats overnight air bro.

not am's fault whatsoever on this one.

-You get an automated email when you place an order, that doesn't mean they actually processed it and boxed it up right then.

-If by saying, "Be sure to read the fine print", you meant to say, "Make sure you know the shipping details," then you are correct sir.;)

This must be the fine print you speak of.

This is one of the draw backs of the boards. Exposes the bad in some cases, but puts a bad rap to a good company. Didn't have any problems with them years, hope this thread gets deleated from the newb.
