Highly Disappointed in AM

Fine guys...I see you don't understand my point of view....it wasn't free...I paid them extra for a service that I am not getting really any benefit from.....if it were your dime you would understand too....I am not trying to hate on them at all...please believe that...their products are very nice and of great quality...have no problems with that at all. Just very upset about the circumstances which even the guy from American Muscle agreed with me on weren't really fair either.

Thanks,
Dan

We understand what you THOUGHT you were getting and that you didn't get the benefit that you wanted but I am reminded of a little saying that I'm guilty of sometime using in excess...

"Piss poor planning on your part does not constitute a crises upon mine."

It's not meant to be inflamatory but you planned wrong. Pretty much everyone with experience knows that if you order after noon on any given day that the the following day is when your order is HANDLED. That puts the day after that as the first business day of shipping. You ordered WED night. That means that your order would be prepared for shipping on Thursday and the first day of actual shipping my the carrier would be Friday. Package pickups from businesses usually occur in the afternoon between noon and five. High volume outfits usually have a pickup in the morning and then the one in the afternoon.

The morning pickup is no good because your order needs to be prepared once the work force arrives. So you order gets prepped in the morning and is ready for shipment in the afternoon. Once picked up it goes to the shipping company and is processed. The following day... it's on its way.

So what folks are trying to tell you is that you planned poorly. It's not AM's fault or the fault of the shipping company. It's not like they have a tube in the ship where George Jettson stands in it to be whisked away to the shipping facility. 2 days for shipping ALWAYS includes at least one for processing. 1 day for shipping ALWAYS includes 1 day for processing. There are few excpetions and those exceptions usually apply only to document mailers... not products.

Being someone who once needed a part in a hurry, but didn't get it in time because of a situation just like this, I understand where you are coming from. It sucks, but it's life.

That being said, AM did nothing wrong. You said you paid them extra; no, you paid the shipping service extra. The title of this thread should be "Highly disappointed in UPS/USPS." Most of us would feel for you on that one.

"...i ordered it expecting it in 2 days...and yes they did recieve and process the order that very night because I have an email right back right after i order it." 01palehorsegt, when you submitted and order there system has an automatic Email response. i ordered my wheels for a 00gt (03 cobra reps) on monday @ 3AM that 3 in the morning. i had them shipped regula and had them wednesday after lunch, so shame on you for spending extra money but your carrier is the blame not AM and yes i got there automatic email confrimation response like you did.

Ok...that's fine guys...I do see where everyone is coming from...so if the board supervisors or whomever can change the original title to show USPS/UPS instead of AM....go ahead....it's totally fine...didn't mean to stir up any trouble....just was upset about the situation at the time....all is fine now...sorry to have upset anyone about this....so moderators please update the title so it won't tick off anyone else or offend anyone....which was not my intentions at all....

Thanks,
Dan

I'm not seeing how it's the shipping company's fault either. Am I missing something here? If you ordered on Wed night with 2 day shipping, you should get it on Monday. Every time.

Thanks slayerripkdc....my wife just picked me up an early christmas present a new DSLR Cannon t2i today...can't wait to get the car put back together to get some nice pics with it. And for Ateup...that's been my entire beef with this entire thread...UPS sucks because they don't deliver on Saturday's anymore.....had it come USPS then I would have recieved the package today...now do you understand?

none taken here, but we all know were your coming from about the anticipation of new parts for a toy:D

then UPS should have a fine print label stating after a certain day of the week the package delivery date is subject to change. but from experiance "if UPS picks it up on thursday technicly thats the 1st day of shipping then friday would be the 2nd, so false advertisement...i think so.

To me, if you order on Wednesday night and it ships on Thursday as it should in the best case, Friday is one day and MONDAY is the second day. But I have seen places that only guaranty the 2 day AFTER it ships and processing before it ships can take days. When I order stuff, I try not to be in a hurry for it.

Nightfire...I meant regular ground shipping...I can remember back in the early 90's when I was restoring a pickup I was able to get ground packages from Jegs and Summit all the time on Saturdays....then all of a sudden they stopped doing it. Since you work there, can you explain to me why a package will sit at a location for over a day sometimes before it moves on? Plus i have had stuff thru UPS before that would be processed twice thru the same faciltiy which also delayed the package a day....never could understand why?

Thanks,
Dan

i order material for a glazing company here in charlotte, nc. and when i order monday (or any other day) and am told 2days from processing it will be shipped i explicitly ask non-stop does that mean monday wil be 1st day or is it tuesday the 1st day of shipping, they tell me the the 1st day of shipping is when the order is shipped (the material is picked up by the carrier). i sometimes can place an order 8:30ish in the morning and standard 2day ship, and will get it tuesday, but if order it after 12 or so i always see it 2days after i place the order. so if i placed it monday i get it wednesday. (unless its B.O.)
