problem is I'm getting tired of sensors, I can't run the cam i want because the car is speed density. Right now its burning rich as fire and getting around 12 mpgs
If you can find an early factory 4180c carb you are better off as they are annular discharge. I rebuilt and tricked the one on my 85 vert and it is smooth like an EFI from 1,000 rpms up in 4th and 5th gears.
pros-none
cons-setting up a good carb setup is not cheap, value will plunge on your car, you won't make any more power, good carb help is hard to find these days.
Back in the day carbs may have made a bit more power, but there are plenty of good intakes for 302 based engines now, and power difference for a street car is negligible.
Get your harness and maf setup sorted out, there really isn't anything easier to work on than an efi 5.0.
