old fuel

My fox has had the same gas sitting in the fuel tank for about a year and a half now (because I was stationed overseas for a year). I'm pretty sure the gas is no good. I was toying with the idea of attempting to siphon as mush as the old fuel out as possible and add new gas with some sea foam. I'm thinking if i do that i can get away with not dropping the tank. Any takers?

I wouldn't worry about it all. Pour in a double dose of fuel injector cleaner and fill it up right after that with fresh gas and rock on. Burn up that tank and fill up again. After a couple of fresh tanks, for maximum effect (if you want to be "Johnny-on-the-spot") change the fuel filter.

Cheers.

1 year i wouldn't worry about. Just op it off with fresh gas and fire it up. I've done this a few times with no issue.

My car sat for 7 years with gas in the tank. Most of it evaporated due to permeation, but i still had 1/4 tank of gas left over after 7 years from a full tank.

I siphoned it out as much as I could, then topped off the tank with fresh gas and fired it up. Started first try.

As for the 5 gallons of old gas...every time i filled my my daily driver, i would add 1/2 a gallon or so here and there to the new gas to dilute it. After a few weeks it was gone.
