Hi , Me and my wife just bought a 2001 cobra with a bassani stainless exhaust. Every time we get to a certain rpm in every gear there is a rattling sound. I took it to an exhaust place and asked them what it could be and he said bassani is nutorious for having baffles come loose with too many bumps. I really have no clue if thats what it is. Guna replace the factory h pipe with no cat x pipe and install two new cherry bomb pro mufflers. If thats not it then i will move on to other possiblities. The old owner said it also could be something with the clutch. Now it is a possibility but i dont see how. Clutch plate or flywheel??? i have no clue:shrug: If anybody has had this issue or maybe knows what it is please feel free to reply thanks!!!

is it a full basanni exhaust? if so is it a off road pipe or cat back?

when i got my car it had an off road x-pipe and mac mufflers. the whole system was 2.5 inches.

the problem i had was also a rattling/ clanking sound, this is due to the x-pipe and the chambered mufflers. it was one of the worst noises i have ever heard, i dont know how some people could possibly think it sounds good. i replaced the mufflers thnking they were the issue....they were not.

what i ended up doing was getting some bassani high-flow cats (about 40-50 bucks each) and welding them in place of the "test pipe" along with that and my flowmaster super44's the exhaust doesnt rattle and it has a nice smooth sound.

Rattling, maybe a little sporatic bit of a "creaking" sound?? If so, mine does the same when cold and between idle and 1500ish rpm. Never did get to the bottom of it, hard to pinpoint so far. I also have a Bassani X and stock manifolds, am interested to find if this is something "normal" with Bassani's product :(. The sound doesnt compliment the car whatsover.
