i found a guy to do some paint and body work to my car. going to get the body straight and delete my sun roof. i am having a difficult time deciding on rather i want to go Kona blue or Dark highland green. i keep flip flopping back and forth between the two. I know for certain that it is going to be one solid color though.

what do you think kona blue or DHG?

Neither...do your homework and find another color that's off the wall and unusual. That way it'll stand out from the crowd.

I've got a color picked out that's so crazy people are definitely going to love it or hate it but they won't forget it either way.

X2. I see so many blue Mustangs it's crazy, and highland green on a Stang definitely isn't anything new. I went with Dupont Green Effect on my car. I get a lot of positive comments, and have never seen another car around here in that color, and,it's nice having a car that people can't say "I saw one like that.................". Be different.

i was considering going with the green color of my hood at first. but i love DHG. here is a bigger pic of my car with the green hood. honestly i am really leaning towards DHG if my fiance decides to go with kona blue i will go that way. but i see lots of blues, blacks, and some purple foxes in my area. never see a green one and the only bullits are new edges. so i think that a bullit themed fox would be pretty cool.

green on hood...

The problem with this comes when you need to match the color. I love that my car is a one of a kind color. It changes in the heat/shade/ and different lighting. But the problem is it cant really be matched. Sure you can get close but it will never be the same. If i could do it over again i would get a factory olor.

Yeah i'm not gonna mix my own color, but i am going with a factory color from another brand...that way it's readily available for repair jobs and shouldn't cost as much. It doesn't even have to be an off the wall color...just something you don't see on 20 year old Mustangs.

I like the way, "and delete my sunroof" just rolls off your tongue. Have you gotten any estimates on that "simple (haha)" little job of deleting a sunroof?

What are you gonna have him do... weld in a patch of sheet steel, then bondo it? The welding will cause all kinds of warping and getting the patch shaped correctly is going to be almost impossible and all the bondo it'll take is going to crack from all the roof flex and slamming of the doors.

Or you could have the roof cut off and replace it with a donor. I've seen it attempted by a very experienced body shop and they gave up half way through because it was so labor intensive and not really worth it. They ended up buying another mustang shell and transfering everything off the old car to it.

I wish you luck, but I also hope you have deep pockets, cuz you'll never get back the money you're going to spend on it if you ever re-sell the car. And just think how many performance mods you could buy with that money instead of wasting it on a sunroof delete.

Yea, I don't know why you'd "delete" the sunroof... Unless you're allergic to sunshine...? Are you a vampire? :D

I vote green, btw. Way too many blue foxes out there. Green with a flat black hood stripe that follows the lines of the cowl hood.

Thanks for the info! That's what I was also thinking.

When I read that in the OP, I was thinking that maybe they make a solid sunroof replacement panel? Wouldn't look like factory, but it could solve the problem of leaky sunroofs in a more cost effective manner.

BTW: My vote if for BLUE! :) My '94 Olds in green. It hides the dirt and looks okay for a DD. But, IMHO, the blue the OP suggested is much nicer.

Yea, the only way to correctly "delete" the sunroof is to replace the whole roof skin with an oem non sunroof skin. Otherwise like stated above, the warpage is going to be insane and you will have a ton of filler in the roof.
