What is a fair price for this 92 NOTCH

$5500 minimum, no questions asked. Whats with the AC compressor and lines, are they dealer installed air or aftermarket replacements?

BUY IT!

That's a dealer installed air conditioner.

I wouldn't pay over 4000-4500 for it. It looks clean, but it's not clean if you know what I mean. Better pics could help, but I'm sure there are signs of everyday wear and tear on that car.

5500 or so....I start thinking of some of the very clean cars that I see on this site.

Run a carfax and see about those miles. Since u been out of the game for 10 years or so. Just a reminder for things to really look into. The odom does rollover. I just ran a carfax on a 100000 mile car..... More like 300000 miles. Just a tip.

That's what I was saying and it being a five speed you would consider paying that much. No chance and 106 miles ain't no lo mileage. I would consider low mileage to be 80 below at that price range. The interior looks more like black with gray tweed seating. I just looked at an 89 it was black as black can be no gray tweed.

Ford didn't offer black interior in these cars til 90.

The guy is asking $5500 for it so it sounds about right...I will try to get it for less but I'm willing to pay the asking price because it is so clean and bone stock!

I have big plans for it lol:D

That price is fair, and if you like the car you should buy it. Back when i was looking for a notchback i would have probly jumped all over that thing. Dont seem to interested though, if he knows your in love with it he wont budge on the 5500

'92 Forged piston engine with just a tick over 100K, I'd say if you got it for 5G you did well.

The problem with Foxes is that there's always someone on the internet bragging how they just scored a mint 60K car, one owner, clean carfax for 3200, because they failed to leave out that their uncle gave the car away to them.

What I have found on the street is for a clean, 5L car with the shape and miles your looking at is going to start at 5 for a decent one and go up from there; at least in the Chicago-land area, I can't speak for anywhere else. I've known plenty of guys who have given up trying to find Fox Notches because the good ones are becoming fewer and farther between; especially factoring in a realistic selling price.

It could be a later 89 that could have been produced in late August/September and lucked out it came with all black interior. It is possible

Then it would be a 1990 and have the airbag.

If its an 89 its most likely a swapped or painted interior.

With the black interior came the airbag, and there were several minor changes made that make the 87-89 interior different from the 90-93. The column trim from an 87-89 doesn't really work well with a 90-93 dash, but it can be made to look acceptable with some slight mods. Black interior didn't debut until the 1990 model year, and replaced beige in ford's offering.

My '88 has black interior...and looks factory. But I am the one that put it there.

HVAC knobs changed in 90' also iirc. If you could get it for $5K I'd say that is a fair price. If I had found a car like that when I was looking at my 91 I would have jumped all over it without a second thought.

Hvac knobs, under knee panel is different. Gauge cluster area is different. An 87-89 cluster does not fit into a 90-90 dash without trimming one small tab off. The front seat belt upper mounts are about 1" lower. A lot of the drivers side dash screws on the bottom are in different locations. Rear interior panels are different. Rear hatch shaft is different width. Basically most of the 90-93 interior is made from different molds than the 87-89 interior.

Good points, i just sold a 89 hatch with 85,000 original miles on it for 3400, the car was in good shape but it was an AOD and it did need some work. That notchback is much cleaner, and just the fact that its a 5 speed notch makes it very desireable

Listen its all about what you want.....I just bought mine for $6500...90000 on the clock, new paint, perfect interior and all stock besides the cold air kit......

Oh BTW I am not used to driving a stock 5.0, its too slow for my liking...:rlaugh:

Well I picked it up today..got it for $5300 and it is CLEAN inside is pretty much like new. Hell even the ash tray lid works..:jaw: I'll take some pic's tomorrow.

Thanks,
Steve
