Exhaust (tip) options on a cat back

Well I am thinking about getting rid of the stocker exhaust and getting a cat back system down the road. The problem is, well, no offense to anyone here, but I don't like the tips on most of the aftermarket sets I see out there. I think the 3.5" tips are too big looking for my tastes, and I don't like the "added on" look that lots of the other tips have.

Does any company make a 3" or so size exhaust that looks like the factory tailpipe? Preferably one that at least looks like a one piece tailpipe?

I want to avoid this look if possible .... NO OFFENSE TO WHO OWNS THIS CAR if they are on this site (Google search candidate)!! I just am looking for something different.

IIRC, Flowmaster makes a 3" tip but I dunno about Flowmasters on this car. I have them on my Cougar and I think they sound great on an old car... but I dunno about on the Mustang. Anyone have Flowmasters and have anything to say about them?

Not my car, tho my GT is the same color AND my tailpipes look the same - it's a Bassani catback where the tailpipes are just clamped on. I don't mind the look, tho I can see where you're coming from. I'm not fond of Flowmasters, seems everyone uses them all over LA.

Everyone I've looked at uses 2.5" pipes for 94-95 V8's. The ones that say 3" have the same tailpipe look as the GT above.

Damn. With my 275s on the back the stocker 2.5s look way too small. dual 3" tips seem to be the way to go but yeah, other than Flowmaster I haven't seen another set with 3" tips. Even then, like you said it might just be the clamped on tip.

Damn.

See what I mean here? The tips look tiny :(

mine are 2 1/2". i think the reason you don't see many 3" catbacks is that the space (or lack thereof) above the axel is tight enough to make 3" pipes going through there not very feasible. at least, that is what my mechanic said about it.

you could always just get the catback you want and the tips you want and have it done anyways...

In my opinon i liked flowmasters when i first got my car but now ive herd alot of other cars. Flowmaster is very over rated i think. Im swapping out my flows for loud mouths here soon. Also it seems as if EVERYBODY has flowmasters. Just my 2 cents

Pretty sure that is SRT Handz car. He posts here and on SN95 Forums. Dude has a super clean car. If that is his car, I know for a fact that is a Bassani catback.

I'd love to see some nice 3" tailpipes. My car has the Flowmasters with dumps right before the axle. I'm personally sick of that and plan on adding tailpipes with the 3" tips.

So it indeed is his car lol. Good ol Google. Making the world smaller each day.

He has a very clean car, and lots of respect to anyone that can keep E9 from turning into a godawful pink mess. I am just not a fan of the exhaust tips ;)

Yeah I am still looking around for a good set. The Flowmaster tips look decent but I am still on the lookout for an entire setup. I like Flowmasters on old cars, but I still think I'd rather have something different on the 94.

Handz's catback came with the 3.5 inch tips for some reason. Suspect looks like he has the 3" tips. Nik's 95 Cobra has the 3 inch tips and those look great as well.

I do believe you can purchase the tips from Bassani without getting the whole catback.

If you don't want Flowmasters, you could also get Magnaflow. They sound pretty good. Dynomax is another good option.
