87 Mustang GT with Complete 93 Cobra Drivetrain. This car has it all. 5 speed, 3.73 gears, 8,000 miles on motor .30 over fuel injected 302. Super clean black interior from 93 Cobra. BBK long tube headers, BBK H-Pipe, Flowmaster mufflers with 2.5 inch exhaust. All Cobra stuff (heads, intake, 24 lb injectors, cam, computer, etc.) Pillar gauges. 5 Lug conversion with 4 wheel disc brakes and bullitt wheels. Lowering springs (not cut) BBK Gripp caster camber plates. Tinted windows. This car is super clean and has been babied. You won't be disappointed.

I am awaiting pictures. The few posted show a relatively nice silver exterior, with clean black interior. Seller said tranny does not grind, car was stripped and painted 4yrs ago, and has a clean title.

thanks in advance.

Do you know what it looks like underneath? It can look all nice on the top and inside but the underneath can be rusty and shot. Where has the car lived most of it's life?

Also, is the exterior still the GT package or swapped to Cobra bumpers, tail lights, tags, spoiler, etc?

No, I have not seen underneath. I am over 1hr away from the car and trying to get a ballpark of what the general value is for a clean appearing car with a cobra drivetrain. The car is still a GT as only the drivetrain and interior were swapped.

If the car is rust free, clean, tq box's straight....etc, is the car worth $5000-$6000?

if there are no hack jobs with wiring, no rust, and sounds as good as you described, i'm sure someone would pay 5-6k for it. try to find some sort of issue with it and offer him 4000 and go from there. if you can't find anything, start at 4500 or so.

gonna go ahead and call BS on the cobra drivetrain
1. because a wrecked '93 cobra isnt easy to come by
2. because it would be the most pointless drivetrain swap known to man IMO

:shrug:Some of you guys are funny. The seller said the a 93' Cobra was used as a donor after it was rear ended and totalled. I don't think that it would be a bad conversion seeing that the 87 was probably tired, speed density, and these interiors always look better in black.

Besides everyone picking the car apart, how about giving me an idea of what an 87' GT with these parts are worth: GT 40 heads, Cobra upper/lower intake, 24lb inj, MAF converted, 3.73's, L/T's, O/R H, Flowmater catback, 5 lug 4wheel Disc converted, full black cloth interior, lowering springs, caster/camber plates and repainted 4yrs ago..?

If it's true....then it's awesome. But it's also a common statement you always see made. I've frequently come across plenty of ads for mustangs with "engine from wrecked cobra".

Really need pics though to assess value. Sounds like a 4500-6000 car from your description but really need to see pics to see how clean car is.

I dont know seems kinda reasonable for people to pick it apart. I know if I was buying a car I would want as many opinions as possible on why it might be bad. Of course if I was selling the car and people were picking it apart I would get annoyed

I tend to agree the Cobra engine does not really add much value. As a matter of fact I have heard rumors the Cobra computer is actually worse than a comparable LX or GT.

The Cobra engine had 8000 miles on it? Has this been verified at all? I have no problem believing a wrecked Cobra was used as a donor, my brothers 86 GT has an intake off a wrecked and parted Cobra. I would however question the mileage, as that seems low. Also if it has 8000 miles, why was it bored .030 over, and what kind of pistons were used? How many miles on the chassis, how much filler used when it was repainted, etc...

Personally a lot of questions would need to be answered, and then I would have to assess the car in person. Given the general description, this would probably be a $5000 car around here, although the owner would probably be asking $8000+.
