They both cost about the same installed, but which will give me more bang for the buck ? Long tube catted X pipe headers, or FRPP Cams.
I already have 373 gears, intake JLT, BBR Tune etc.

cams would deff give you more power than the headers. depending on which cams you get ull get even more outta of them but i would say 30hp minimum from cams and about 15-25 maximum with headers. i put headers on my old car and they were expensive to put on and i almost noticed absolutely nothing just got louder and alittle more on the top end but thats about it. frpp cams are the way to go

You'll make more power with cams but 30HP minumum? I don't think so, especially not with the "Hot Rods" you'll get less then 30 maximum. Either which way cam choice is very important so make the choice wisely. If I may ask what are your final goals for the car?

For cams, you might want to check out the Brenspeed Detroit Rockers, they sound awesome with reportedly no low rpm driveability problems (bucking and surging). Looks like around a 30-35 hp gain as well.

The Ford Racing Hot Rod cams are more for sound, they have a pretty similar grind as the Comp cams Mutha Thumpers, the gains are minimal. I am not sure what headers Nick08 put on his car, but a set of Kooks longtubes with catted mid-pipe is good for 25-30 rwhp and will be a asset to future upgrades. If you where going to go with cams I would highly suggest going with a set specific to your needs. If you'd like to call me @ Steeda (ask for Todd) I would be happy to discuss options and help you dial in a decision.

Detroit Rockers are the route to take. A local guy has them and loves them. THey sound great. Nothing but positives on the Detroit Rockers and they are VERY driveable. Going that route myself soon after resolving a few other things I have to redo since I wasted money on a McLeod RST twin disk and SPEC steel flywheel that is slipping, chattering and not engaging properly after 5000 miles of driving and three drag strip passes on street tires. Nice huh? Stock clutch holds up to 427 RWHP for 12000 miles and still holding when its replaced with a "better quality" twin disk clutch and flywheel and the package can't make 5000 miles. Installer said they could not explain the problem when I took it back to them. Thats what I get for not going first class and taking the car to Brenspeed to begin with. So when spring time comes its another clutch and flywheel, EXEDY this time, and LT's with catted midpipe and a stage three SC package upgrade on the old meat grinder. Maybe the cams can be a 2012 project.
