I'm working on scratching up parts for a 408w, and I need to start looking for headers. I am going to use 225 heads and hope to make 550-600whp. That being said I need to flow a lot, I'd like opinions on brands. I've used Hooker in the past and was pleased, but a lot has changed since my last go-around. I've kind of eyed KOOKS, not sure If BBK makes anything large enough for what I'm trying to do...I'm thinking 1 7/8 primaries and a vic jr. or super vic on the intake side....any opinions would be appreciated! thanks!:nice:

You're right, they're not too far off on price, and the kooks are stainless.... Thanks. Anybody ever used them that could comment on fit? I'd assume they'd be spot on, but It's always nice to hear from experience.

the kooks are not automatically stainless! the 600 something priced ones are mild steel and uncoated.

kooks in stainless retail for right around a grand.

i'm going to buy the kooks in stainless!

i like to wrap my headers and it has worked great in the past, i have also done downpipes on my last turbo car and header pipes on my 4 wheeler's i had with no problems and cheap. on summit SS is like $650 and ceramic is around $900

summit does not sell stainless headers for 650! i know the computer shows that in the "materials" area but rest assured it is a misprint. 650 is for the mild steel, uncoated version! stainless kooks headers are real close to 1000 dollars. ceramic coated are priced similarly.

if you can buy kooks headers in stainless for 650 please let us know where as i'll buy a set or two.

you have to add the suffix "s" to the part number for stainless. notice the summit part number is absent of the "s" at the end.

IMHO Kooks are junk for what u spend on them they never fit always hang to low but do a search on yellowbullet. I went with a pair from accufab yes they do more than throttle bodies..Good luck. Mine should be here mid jan so Ill chime in later.

was gonna say that, i'd buy kooks used if i got a deal, but if i was buying new id probly go accufab. keep an eye out on corral and the NMRA digital classifieds, really good deals can be had on there.
