I am a newcomer to the world of tuning - so please be patient with me.
I do not want to add a CAI at this time (don't want to spend the money and not sure what it would get me over the existing cold induction system) but am interested in getting a tune - the objective being a little more horsepower and firmer shifts from the auto trans, being able to chirp tires in 2nd and 3rd would also be nice.
Has anybody done this without adding a CAI ?, what do you recommend - I was looking at the SCT tuner.
Appreciate advice from the experts.

Thanks

Hit me up after Saturday. I live near Steeda, and a few weeks ago we put their CAI and Dyno Tune on my auto. The results were good and it woke the car up a TON, but I called them back and said I thought it could be better. So they called me back and made a proposition. I had already spent $3k with them on rims and exhaust, so they offered to have me bring my car in this Saturday for them to do some more dyno tuning to 'tweek' the parameters to my liking, then use my car as a measuring stick for other AUTO tunes. We are gonna do several dyno runs get the most out of their CAI and Tune.

Now..I know you dont want to do the CAI now, but it IS worth the coin, IMO. Even if you dont do it now, the tune alone will really make a difference. You can send me a PM if you want more info.. OR...call Steeda Direct and ask for TODD in sales. They can hook you up with the tune and SCT X3. If you find the device cheaper on line from a reputable dealer, just tell Todd and he'll work with you on the pricing.

As of now, we got 25/27 peak hp/tq to the wheels with the tune/cai, but more importantly, the increase was seen over the entire RPM range. Will post back after our results this weekend.

so... what were the results? I have a new 2011 GT with Auto trans and am considering a tune

If you get the Steeda CAI to use with the tune. Let me know. Steeda used My car locally as their "test tune dummy" to develop a good tune. WE had it on the dyno for 4 hours to come up with this tune. Todd/Gus at the FL location will hook you up with my tune..over 30/40 gained at the wheels and shifts like crazy!
