Hey i recently placed a order for a 2011 mustang gt and i just got a call from the dealership and apparently ford stopped production on the 2011's and is going to start production on the 2012's now so mine will be a 2012 instead of a 2011. is there any difference in the 2011's as opposed to the 2012's besides the price? the dealership guy didnt really know all that much about the 2012's.

From what I have read, the base model GT drops a bit in price where the premium GT goes up about $200.

There are some exterior color changes (dropped mineral grey and added a yellow, IIRC).

That and the addition of a locking gas cap accessory are the only things I have noticed.

Got a couple of dealers bowing out of the bidding war I've got going on here. One of them is quoting me 2 grand under edmunds' "true market value" price of the car as configured.

looks like I may have an order placed by the end of the week.

I went and drove one today with the 3.73's and brembos and I was very impressed.

Congrats!

The wait sucks though. But at least you get the car the way you want it and and don't have to pay for stuff you don't want.

I ordered mine so I could get it cheap and save money for mods. I got cloth seats, base rims/brakes, etc.

Hell, I told em all I wanted was 412 hp and a seat.

hahah the wife wouldn't let me get the base model. she said leather seats and the comfort package for heated seats were both mandatory. Not gonna argue with that!

I'm wanting the saddle interior color. It just looks too cool and after visiting 5 dealerships, I've yet to see it inside one of the cars. I think it offsets the black really really well.

hell though, after waiting 10 weeks, I'll have a mountain of mod money to throw at it. Gene evans ford is a couple hours from me so if they end up giving me the best price, I'll see if I can sweet talk a few more bucks off the car if I buy a load of FRPP parts from them (which I'm planning on anyways)

How did you recalibrate the speedo/odometer for the 3:73's?

I also ordered the cloth seats in the standard package (300A). I ordered two options:

My only mod so far was a new rear window:
