100K isn't terrible but it depends on if those are simply highway milage or track as well. Bone stock Mach I would say it still has some life in it but other's who have 1 will chime in lol. Either way they are sexy cars. The auto and 5 spd's have 1 different internal piece that I believe is the crankshaft but others will know for sure.

its a 5speed. and i can get it for 10000bux. and it is absolutely flawless. it seriously looks like it has 20000miles. to mean it seems like it was treated very well. and it has zero accidents on its carfax. you think i should do it?

dont the 5 speeds have a forged crankshaft same as the 03-04 cobras?

For that price and miles I would pass also. I couldnt see spending more then $7,000 for one with those miles, but to each thier own. If you heart is set on the car no one will talk you out of it, been there done that. Just go over eveyrthing really good. Check if it has all the maintence records? How many owners? All the little stuff:nice: If a car is taken care of it will last

You're probably not going to find a 7k Mach that isn't a salvage title car, or high mile abused car... they haven't lost that much re-sale unless they're junk.

As far as how long it lasts, depends on how its been treated and how you treat it. If its been taken care of like you make it sound, it's probably mechanically solid. The 2v and 4v 4.6's are tough engines.

I'd personally look for less mileage and spend $2-$3k more. I've seen 12-13k Mach 1's with 50-70k on the odometer. Or, you could always see if they'll go down on the price a little.

I got mine 2 years ago and paid 17 with 36K Check out ebay and get an idea for how much the car is worth. Kelly Blue Book might say one thing but the car is only worth as much as someone will pay. Honestly these cars wont be getting cheaper, they are becoming a rare car and will be a collectable some day. If you buy one with 100K plan on spending money here and there to keep it 100%, keep in mind it is a muscle car and its probably been beat from time to time. If you can get him down to 8 or 9 I'd go for it because the car is worth every penny!!!

The thing about buying used cars is those maintanance parts that tend to go out at 100000 miles will usally. Balljoints, oxygen sensors, cats (though, I don't hear much about the cats going at that mileage), so on and so forth......
Just make sure you don't have to put 5 more grand into the car just to maintain the sucker, but, if its just the Mach you want for a garage car, I would say get the car, Daily Driver I wouldn't, garage kept, I would.

yes it is going to be my daily driver. the car fax has zero accidents and it says the has gotten new ball joints and front end bushings along with a new clutch. what are you guys saying now? and i think i can get it for 9000-9500.

A $9000 100,000 mile Mach 1 that is stock and never (or rarely) been beat on, and is in good shape (as the OP said it was) is not at all a bad deal. You could spend a couple few thousand dollars more and get one with less miles, but it could easily be in worse shape or have been driven much harder.

And miles really don't mean much these days. LOTS of people have gone over 200k on the stock Mustang motor. I have a buddy with a 04 Mach 1 that daily drove it for over 150,000 miles with full bolt ons, 150 shot, gears, built transmission and 3800 stall. He made over 1000 passes at the drag strip, on top of the 150,000 miles, before he finally spun a bearing (on the stock bottom end). That is a testament to just how reliable these cars are, even with some miles on them.

OP, if it is in really good cosmetic shape, mostly stock (indicating it hasn't been drive but so hard), and the maintenance has been kept up with it, I'd gladly give $9000 for a Mach. Clean ones are becoming harder and harder to come across.

:nice:, I'm bitter b/c I'm having to daily drive my mustang, want someone elses to be garage kept if possible, but, yea whatever would make the O.p. happy.:flag:

10g's sounds like a lot even for a Mach, ill go with the herd and say spend a couple more and get a lower mileage one. My 99 has 162K on it and ive owned it since 40K in 01 and in its lifetime its had 2 alternators, CP's had to be replaced, battery, rear calipers and just the regular maintenance. No way in hell has it needed 5K in upkeep after 100K lol maybe a $25 in plugs and fuel filter. Check the car out!
