Need suggestions for mufflers

Magnaflows technically are a glasspack muffler..they dont have chambers, they have a perforated tube straight through and fiberglass around that to muffle the sound. Thats why they flow awesome and scream at wot..theres almost no restriction at all. Dynomax/Walker are essentially poor man's Magnaflows, although they do sound different. Im really torn between Mac and Magnaflow. Mac with an x is just plain awesome sounding especially with a rowdy cam. I really miss that chambered idle crunch but i like the cruising/wot sound of Magnaflows enough to stick with them. I do plan on buying a set of used Macs if i come across them just for variety. Swapping mufflers is the easiest way to change your car's personality.

No doubt a straight thru muff flows great. I just got turned off by that sound years ago because every red neck jackass ( i can say that because my neck is red) in the town I grew up in with a sh***y chevy big10 pick up had those damn cherry bomb glass packs, along with huge mud tires in back and little street tires in front...copenhagen splattered down the side of the truck, lasso hangin on the gun rack... you get the picture.

I have Dynomax UltraFlo SS mufflers and K & N panel filter on my 93 with everything else stock. They don't really seem too much louder over the stock. The only reason I replaced it is because one of the stock mufflers rusted through.

Dynomax has a VT series muffler that they claim has no drone to it. Seems like it came out right after I bought the UltraFlo's.

Ahh, yes. The cowboy lean. One other major detail is the 1000 foot tall whip antennas connected to absolutely nothing inside the cab.

YOU'VE SEEN IT TOO!!!!!

Then maybe YOU can understand my contempt for that horrible raspy high pitched popping sound that can only be described as sounding like a hatful of a$$holes! I love flowmaster in spite of the drone. And yes, they do(magnaflows) sound like cherry bombs. sorry. I'm ruined on them. I don't expect everybody to understand.

Sounds like Jethro is going be walking for a while. He's lucky he didn't run head on into someone. I can't believe a large group of people with cars on trailers are hanging out during the middle of the day on a road with local traffic racing and doing burnouts. Makes you wonder if that is a one cop town. As for the exhaust I think it's safe to say we are not long looking at anything expensive or exotic. A set of cheap long tubes and straight pipes- if he has mufflers- cherry bombs or their equal. After watching that video I have an overwhelming desire to watch the movie "Deliverance." I hope it passes soon.

What about Super-turbos?
Always a fan of the Super Turbos but eventually you'll probably want something more aggressive at WOT. The "Poor man's Magnaflow" is the perfect description. I've run them back to back on my '92. At normal driving they sound pretty similar but at WOT the Magnaflow really opens up.

The 3-Chamber Delta Flow is still my favorite. It has that same Flowmaster sound that I never get tired of but it's a little quieter (inside/out).

Those sound amazing with an X on a 4.6. I had a neighbor who had them and it sounded a lot like Mac only still more like Flows, just mellow cruising around like the Magnaflows are but still pretty loud opened up.

I didn't mean to sound crass about magnaflows. sorry. Just cherry bombs.:D I know mufflers take on different tones depending on engine size and horsepower/flow. My point was at one time or another I heard some on a car that sounded somewhat like cherry bombs. Are the macs chambered or straight through like magnaflow?
