I've got a VIN locked Xcal 2 that I only use as a code reader. When I had the car that it programmed, I never datalogged with it, but it said it could. Can it datalog any car or just the one it's locked to?

FordTaurusSHO94:

Your XCal can datalog any Ford vehicle. Your best bet is to run it "pass-through" to a laptop computer because the memory is limited (90 seconds?). I should mention that a pre-OBDII (pre-96 Ford) vehicle won't datalog well so if that is your plan, contact SCT. For OBDI vehicles, you might need a TwEECer or similar.

Could use livelink no?

Mais oui, mon ami!

Yes, I forgot to mention that to FT-SHOGT. Thanks for the good advice. :canada:

You need to get LiveLink from the SCT site, sctflash.com, then find the Tech Support tab and the downloads page will pop up. Scroll to the right until you find the Ford XCal2 and click on the icon. You'll find LL at the bottom of the page. It's pretty big (60 MB) so downloading could take some time.

(not sure if this link will work but give this a try)...

Thanks! I got it up and running and rode around with it on my Ranger. It was pretty neat. I need to figure out which 10 are the most useful to watch though. I also need to figure out how to simplify the results in Excel.
