car whistles in the intake or somewhere seems its loudest on the left side and i soaked this thing with water EVERYHERE and it makes no difference...just wondering if anyone has seen this or know of this....checking to see if this is normal....
you know i have no clue.....its got a pretty big ficken hole i can tell ya that
i have no egr spacer or egr for that matter , no smog junk at all
and after i ran it and checked all over its def. coming from inside that big ass intake manifold.....i even took off the back and checked the gasket...it apperas to be fine.....also can get this idle right i checked and did the idle surge list....just idles sporadic until it runs for about 4 minutes then smoothes out
maybe its in my base timing its set at 10 btdc but i have a b303 cam and figured thats where it had to be set...
A quick google search came up with 70mm as the intakes opening.
If that's true, that's bad.
Also read that the built in egr may be too close to port the opening to meet the 75's opening demands.
So before you break out the dremel do some research. (this may depend your intake, i have no idea if you have a built in egr)
I used to have a Pro Products RPM knock off intake. It whistled like a tea kettle! I have heard others have reported this also. Some say there is a mismatch on the throttle body opening that causes it but I don't know. I have a real RPM intake now and no whistle...
PP typhoon intakes are cheaper for a reason, rough castings and not as accurate machining (if any). You pretty much need to port gasket match the upper to lower plenumn, the throttle body opening, and the intake ports to the heads.
when you bolt on your throttle cable bracket you bolt it to the throttle body...even with the egr in place....so where else would i bolt it to? except for in the same exact place....had to customize it a bit but it works
btw new vid on youtube it explains alot
took this thing out on the road the other day...dumped the clutch and floored it....man was that scary , i didnt expect it to go ALL the way around
also i changed the wheels bought a new set of weld pro stars 6" front 8" on the rear with all new tires for $550 hell of a deal
In the picture below, we have a TB on the left and an EGR spacer on the right. See the two ears on the bottom left corner of the EGR spacer? That's what your throttle cable bracket mounts to. This is why I'm having a hard time understanding what you've got your throttle cable attached to if you have no EGR spacer.
