JEsus you guys got a ton of ice. Luckily most of ours was snow. EVERYTHING was shut down. Mcdonalds and Taco Bell were all closed.. the whole city was shut down. It was ridiculous. Tomorrow I start work again thankfully!

The nasty weather has reached Georgia. We have had rain, snow and sleet today. My porch is a frozen mix right now. You northerners need to keep your nasty weather in the winter, and we'll deal with the heat in the summer.

We got that same storm here but it did not pack as much as a punch as in other areas. We got about 10-12" of snow out of it. But add that to the other storms we have had recently of a foot or more since christmas and it starts to become to much. There is no place left to put the snow and you cant see anywhere pulling out onto roads b/c the snow banks are so high now, you have to pretty much pull right out into the road to see if anything is coming or not

It's all about what you're used too. I don't mind driving in heavy snow when I'm back in Norway. Down here in GA, a light dusting terrifies me. No one knows how to drive in it. The city has hardly any grit or salt, and no real plows. Getting to work is total hassle. The airport all but shuts down. I've spent 5 hours in deice line waiting to get snotted here in Atlanta.

I don't like the "light dusting" either. It makes the road very slippery as opposed to some deeper snow which gives your tires something to bite. People are used to the snow here, but still seems like half don't know how to drive in it, especially at the beginning of the season.

Jealous of the OP pics, although I've seen that much before growing up in MO. Not at all jealous of the ice pics (although I saw that too, growing up in MO. More than once had to take a hammer out to the car to break the ice enough to get the doors open).

Had been having a fairly light snowfall year in AK, but we've been picking up over the past few weeks. But I LIKE the snow!
