06 GT newbie

What I would do now that you have a stock tune back in your car is order an SCT tuner from someone like American Muscle and get some custom tunes so you can put that FRPP CAI back on, you could get a 93 race tune and run it throughout the year and when it comes time for emission testing again next year, you could throw the stock airbox and tune back in the car like a week or two before you have the car tested (from what I understand, when putting a stock tune back into the car after running a custom tune, you need to drive the car for like 50-75 miles with the stock tune for everything in the cars computer to go back to normal)

But I def recommend getting a SCT so this way when you plug it into your car the first time it loads a copy of your stock tune into the programmer, this way you'll always have it and can go back to stock for emission testing. :nice:

No fraking way should you change magnaflows for SLP. The only thing you should change magnaflows for is magnapacks. :nice:

I disagree. SLP FTW!

I've never heard SLP's in person so I can't knock them, but I can tell you Magnapacks sound awesome, especially with a good tune and the C&L Racer CAI, put an O/R X pipe on and its gets really loud and a bit raspy but still sounds awesome :nice:

BTW Mitchell, post up some pics of your Stang :D

heres a couple of quick pics..

That is indeed a SWEET ride :nice: Have you thought about taking the factory wing off and putting something like a GT500 Spoiler, would look nice :D

Also get those F150 truck mirrors off and get some Agent 47 Race Mirrors, they would look really nice on your black car.

I agree on the tune and CAI first. I did mine and it was the best bang for the buck. I had the SLP's on mine and took them off for a set of Pypes. 4" tips and it eliminates the mufflers, sounds mean. I would also agree with a gear swap. I did under drive pullies and changed to a GT 500 TBI with a spacer. Don't forget with more power you will need to address the brakes and suspension.

what would you recommend as the best 3 exhaust mufflers for an s197? I need to switch out my stock ones, so people can hear it is a mustang before seeing me down the road

IMO, Magnapacks, I love the way my car sounds, when I first put mine on the car was completely stock and they sounded killer, then I added the Bama 93 Race tune and the C&L Racer CAI and the sound really changed, much throatier and a bit louder, then I added the O/R Magnaflow Tru X X Pipe and is MUCH louder and a bit raspy, I am very pleased with the way it sounds now :D
