Im still thinking about doing this, just havent had the extra coin lately to order everything i want!
Any idea how much weight you took off the nose?

A lot of my friends give me a hard time about all of the stuff I have ripped out of my car to cut weight. It all depends on what you want to do with the car or what you are willing to sacrafice to go just a little faster. As for deleting accesories, all mine are gone, to include the power steering pump. I even figured out a way to turn off my alt while making a pass down the track.

Why would you want to turn off your alt? You would lower your voltage output thus making a weaker spark in my opinion. you would go from 13-16 volts down to 12 or less depending on whats running. such as lights, elec fan, etc etc.... and if you are still turning the alt with the belt you didnt gain anything.

Bingo. I had a friend who tried this. He LOST three horsepower on the dyno.

Anyone have some pics of how the two FMS brackets bolt up to everything?
I got my brackets today and thought there might be an exploded diagram or something that shows how it bolts up but there was not. sposta be nice here this weekend (well, in the 40's) i might try to get time to mess with it this weekend.

Thats interesting that he lost 3 HP. I agree that there will be less voltage for spark but, I will be running narrow plug gaps & an ignition box that will hopefully take care of some of that issue. I also have an 800 CCA bat in the back. With the Alt off, its just another free spinning pulley. once the fields flash to charge its pretty hard to turn that pulley by hand. Im expecting to pick up a little HP by doing this. I wont know for sure until this summer. I wont be going to a dyno but, if I do better or worse at the track, I will post my results. I had a buddy that was having charging problems. His cars alt would cut off & on intermitantly. I was riding with him as he was doing a 3rd gear pull on the street & when his Alt gauge dropped from14+ to 12, you could actually feel the car pull harder & put you back in the seat a little more. I know the seat of the pants dyno isnt much of a scientific messurement. Thats why I want to see the difference at the track. If it works, great, free power. if not, oh well, I wont do that again.
