Ok guys totally new here, first post. A couple of months ago I install some H&r springs on my 04 mach 1. Ever since then I've had this creak noise when steering at low speed. Found out it was the rack bolts and or bushings. I can tighten them and it goes away for a bit, but comes back. I was just curious if anyone has dealt with this , and if so what can I do to fix it. I was thinking maybe offset rack bushings and a bumpsteer kit might take some of the stress of the rack since I lowered it. anyhow any thought would be great.

Yeah I think it is common for these cars. Mine does it at low speed turns when I cross over bumps like pulling into a driveway. I did not do any suspension work and it started doing it about 35 thousand miles. I think Ford put out a bulletin but I’m not sure. I’d say your right on the money, I think it is probably the bushings and I heard rumors that Ford put the wrong size bolts in. I’m gonna try to pull mine apart before spring but you know how that goes. If you find anything out please let me know!!

simple fix

One time I had this problem with my 04 mach, 5 speed. I told the guy who was changing my tires and he sprayed some WD40 while it was on the lift.
