Hello!!

I have a '95 GT and would like to get advise. I want to change my stock air cleaner by one cold air intake like BBK or K&N.
The BBK 1712 is very interesting. The kit comes with the air filter, all brackets, etc. It also came with the intake tube. However it is all chrome and think it does not match that much with the engine, since it is all black.
The K&N 57-2511 kit includes the air filter and all brackets and it is all black, which match better with the engine color. However it does not come with the air tube, you must use the engine stock tube.
I understand that basicaly both would behave very close and the difference is only cosmetic. Both manufacturers say that you will release 8~15HPs.
Anyway I would like to read your opinion.

Thank you,

Does the K&N have the air filter element outside the engine compt. like the BBK? This is important, as the cooler air and straighter path from out of engine compt. is what makes the claimed H.P. increase. 94-95's get their intake air supply outside (fender well), why would you put your element in a hot environment?

This is an important point of view!
The K&N does not have the air filter element outside the engine compartment and we dont want the air filter getting hot air...

I have a Mac, which is the same as the BBK. There are a lot better Cold air kits out there then both of those you have listed. Do some shopping around. The guys on here will point you in the right direction.

I upgraded my '95 Cobra with a C&L MAF system. The only problem is the air filter is not in the fenderwell. I want to add an elbow with a filter in the fenderwell, the only issue is the C&L mass air meter is the same as a Fox body meters and it does not have the 4 bolt holes like the SN95 meters.

Has anyone located a fix for this problem? Any advise is appreciated.

Hello!
