so i'm screwing around window shopping, thumbing through the dozen or so Mustang catalogs I've acquired over the years, I'm simply looking for some black 289 valve covers with polished fins, how hard is that, well I don't want them to say, Ford, Mustang, 302, 347, Cobra, Shelby, Racing, Edelbrock, Boss, or what ever crap on them, I just want a nice clean look, and guess what they have what I want for the big blocks 390/427/428 but not for the dime a dozen small block

and guess what catalog has the biggest selection?

NPD - nope
California Mustang - nope
Obsolete - nope

it's MUSTANGS UNLIMITED (right here in my back yard) followed by CJ PONY PARTS

I won't even mention the black and white rags, can you imagine that, trying to sell you parts using a black and white book, some don't even have pictures- these days with the Internets and all, shame on them, LOL.

I've been 'into' Mustangs since 1966, and I don't think I've ever seen black valve covers with polished fins.

We had Cal Custom finned covers on our K code 66 GT FB in 1967. Polished.

The 67-68 Shelby had black covers with brushed fins.

I suppose you could use these:
