BLOWN 347 progress thread

It really won't be too bad. The IRS is going in this weekend. I have to put it in. Then once I get done with that I have a few extra holes in the trunk to weld up from the procharger fuel pump that I had and a couple extra battery cable holes. I ran it underneath the car last time and I think I am going to run it through the car this time. I will also be getting all the interior back in the trunk that I took out. Its time to get this thing back on the road. Coming up on a year without it.

Ok so I didn't get as much done this weekend as I would have liked because I was having some issues with my truck but after getting those sorted out I did make some headway on the car. I took out the rearend I had in it to roll it around. Got the factory fuel lines out of the car and put in the ones from the donor 4.6 car. I got the rear irs mounts put in. The quadshock that I took off allowed me to just bolt the irs bracket up into place. I did drill two more holes through the bottom of the frame just for added support. I ran those bolts through the frame rail and onto the trunk floor. While I was picking up hardware at westlake saw this beauty in the parking lot as well.

The irs is out of an 03 cobra. Other than the two bolt holes I had to drill for the bottom of that mount It is all bolt in. The two side bolts on that mount were already there so just throw the bolts in and go. But the bottom ones had to be drilled. I will hopefully have it in tonight and more pics to come.

Ok finally making some headway on the car. I got the rearend put in the car last night. It is bolted up and the shocks are in. I found the best way to do this was bolt up the rear first then put the springs in and swing the front end up. I got my brakes installed as well. Next I have to get low profile irs bolts so that my 315's will fit on the rear. I also will be connecting the emergency brake cables tonight and getting new brake lines installed as my car has one line that comes to the center of the car instead of two lines, one for each caliper. Need to install fuel filter tonight as well. Gonna leave the tank out for the time being as I am going to be welding up a few of the holes I have made in the trunk. Should have the holes done by the weekend and the tank back in as well as the interior back in the trunk. Finally getting something done on this long project.

Yeah me too. I can't believe it has been almost a year since it has been on the road. At this point I am waiting on what all projects need. MONEY. That has to be the biggest setback on every project. Oh well. Hoping to have it done by christmas time. With the bolt ons and the cams with the spring upgrades I think I am doing a 125 shot and a methonal injection kit as well so I am planning on hitting the 400 mark on the spray.

Ok so it is now tax return time and I just got some of my returns back so it is time to get this project finished up. I picked these up this weekend and got a hell of a deal on them. Brand new SLP loudmouth 2 catback for the IRS suspension since I did the swap for 350.00 and it cost me 30 bucks in gas. Very pleased with that deal. Here are the pics. :nice:

Back on the stang again. Picked up another 1996 to use for parts. I now have MSD coil packs and ford racing wires, my new front timing cover, tubular k member, bbk underdrive pulleys, and a whole slew of other parts. Now gotta sell the parts off the car to make my money back. I also now have a 5 speed for my car again. I can finally start to see a little light at the end of the tunnel. Hopefully to be done this weekend....Have a set of Doherty racing cams that need installed in my new motor as well as trick flow valve spring upgrade. Motor is from a 2004 crown vic. So I will be swapping over my front cover and oil pan from the mustang. I also have a set of 24# injectors I will be installing as well. The transmission I have is from a 1999 cobra so I still have to find a 96-98 t45 core I can take the tailshaft housing off of as well as transfer over the speedo gear to be mechanical instead of electrical. Pics to come later today and this afternoon.

So I haven't been getting as much done as I want but here is a pic of the recent progress. Friday evening the ups man dropped off my recent package and took me all of about an hour to get it installed. Looks sick in the car and got really luck on it. I didn't test fit it before I bolted it to the seat and luckily the top of the bottles just barely miss the inside of the seats when they are put into place. Here are the pics of the product and installed pics.

Ok just picked up yet another parts car to try and complete my car. I ran into some problems with the first couple where most of the things I needed off the car had something wrong whith them. Anyways I just went to Iowa this past weekend to pick up a 1998 GT with abs. Finally this car will get me almost done. I am only minus a couple of parts now. Picked up a motor as well from a 2003 grand marquis from the local salvage yard. Wanted the PI heads and intake and since I am not pulling the heads I wanted one already put together. I have a tubular k member under it now as well as brand new a arm bushings, steeda x2 balljoints, bbk front lowering springs, steeda bump steer kit. I will also be cutting the rear IRS springs 1/2 to 3/4 coil to lower the car in the rear. It is sitting back on the ground now too. The car should be back on the road in a month if everything goes good which I hope it does because its been a year and a half since I tore it apart. Anyways lots more pics to come in the next few weeks. Here is what I recieved today from the ups man. New cross drilled zinc coated front rotors and my valve spring install tools. Borrowing the spring compressor from a friend though to save money.
