So I'm in the market for another fox I have found a few that are in good shape owners won't take less then eleven k...I've looked at a ton of these cars in the 6-8 range and they have all been beat up junk..my question is if I had to sell one would I lose money...I know these cars are getting rarer and I love them but a lot of people don't see the value in these cars and say there is no way they are worth the cash...to me I love me a pushrod motor and I think it owns mod motors it's just such a dif feel with a pushrod motor...anyway what do u guys think are foxes now gonna start demanding respect and start going up in value?....

A Fox is worth exactly what you're willing to pay for it.

In my area, $5-8k will get you a pretty nice condition car, but with well over 100,000 miles. The truly nice, low-mile cars in good color combos start around $10,000. I don't know if they're actually selling at those prices, but that's what people are asking on Craigslist. There are deals to be had and I have friends that have found them, but the prices of Foxes are on the upswing.

No one with a fox with low miles in great shape is gonna take five k

I have purchased 2 or 3 over the years, but Im ready to buy one any day of the week. I dont just go out look for a month and find one. If you truely want a deal you need to search. your not going to find a deal in the mustang trader.

Low miles for me is 60-120k

If you want a low miles 20-40k-ish that is in near perfect condition, it is going to be hard to find one without looking on the internet in classified forums like this one. In enthusiast forums, you're usually going to find cars whose owners went out of their way to maintain, and/or tastefully modify. They have a sentimental feel for the car that is going to end up costing you money, unless no one else will pay for the car and it's sat there for months. The only other way to get a nice car for a good deal is to find someone that's in a pinch and willing to let it go for the "now" price rather than their feel of what it's worth.

If you want a 100k+ mile fox that is running and driving and in decent mechanical shape, then you can easily find these for less than $5k. It's easier to find these in private party local sales, or in local newspapers.

I would not take $5000 for mine. It has the blk and gray interior with leather and only has now 89k. Me being in the automotive industry a lot of people ask me what would I sell my car for. I park it close to a main hi-way and have actually had people stop just to ask about it and see if it is for sale. I don't have a sign in it or anything.
So anyway people ask me, how much would I let it go for? I honestly don't know. I guess if I were to post it for sale I would start around $8000??? Heck IDK. Mine is lightly modded. It also has leather? Paint is in great shape as well as the interior. Runs great other that the release bearing squealing. A/c blows cold and has never been serviced. I know this cause I have had the car since 16k miles. So is $8000 a fair price to ask for it?

If i were to sell mine, and i'm not, but if i was, i honestly think I'd have a hard time getting $5K for it. Not because I don't think the condition warrants is, but i just don't these things sell as hot as others think.

Some people have said I could get $7-8K easy but I think they are dreaming. Don't get me wrong, if i were to sell it i would prob start at $8K and expect to be talked down. But i honestly think the only cars worth anything more than $4500-5000 would be sub-60K mile clean stock cars these days.

I have no desire to sell my car anyway, so i would prob price it to keep...vs price it to actually draw buyers.

I bought my totally stock 90 5.0 LX convertible last Fall with 45k miles (with new tires and roof) for $5k. I was not even looking, just appeared on a local Mustang web site I frequent. My insurance agent insured for $10k based on the photos I sent him. When opportunity knocks you got to answer. This will be my Daughter's ride in 5 years. Until then it's mine to have fun with! Good luck on your hunt.

I just got mine for $3500...
125k on the motor, MSD Ignition, Steeda Lowering w/camber plates and Tokico Adjustable shocks and struts, 2.5" header back exhaust (No cats), Hooker headers, Cold air intake, Fully rebuilt 5 Spd T5 Trans. (Less than 1k on it) etc etc... Point is, $3500... I got a deal but here in the PNW these cars are TYPICALLY bringing $5-7k

Remember that mileage is subjective. Some cars' bodies are in worse shape at 50K than most with 200K.

Trying to find one that isn't beat to hell as though it was out jumping railroad tracks is the hard part. The main thing to look for is rust, body damage from wrecks, and stress and tears in the chassis.

I was lucky enough to find a nice clean 1990 all stock GT convertible from the original owner. Has less than 50K. I paid 10 grand for it but it is truly immaculate. I've been offered over 11K but am in no hurry to sell. But I would if i was offered the right price. I learned along im ago never become attached to anything that doesn't breathe..LOL!

I paid $1,000 for this car. '92 4cyl roller. Straight as an arrow, clean paint and no rust. But had to/has to be built from the ground up to be what I want. But it beats paying $5-8k for a clean running coupe around here.

Not bad for being in it less than it would have cost as a running 302 car.

Another example. Paid $3,500 for this car. straight body, black interior but had rust and peeling clear coat. Paint wasn't amazing but it drove like a top. Stripped what I wanted and sold it and moved on. plenty of people would have kept it, all about what you're looking for in the grand scheme.
