if theres one thing i HATE thats electrical problems!!...

soo i left my house today.. midway through first gear the engine suddenly bogged down to dead, as iff fuel or spark or both cut off on me.... i pushed it back to my house to find that its getting no spark.... before anything, i checked the fuses...... the fuse under the hood for the EEC blew.... soo i bought a new fuse to pop it in and with the key on, the minute the keys on, the fuse pops....... why is this happening???? it would be a good guess thats why im not getting spark when it cranks.... soo now what do i look into why this is happeniong???

Check your canister purge solenoid for frayed wires sound like your shorting out to ground. Mine went there.

im gonna take a look tomorrow in the day.. can i get suggestions of everything to check which would trip that fuse????

Could the computer itself be bad???? SHould i try and unplug the eec and see if it still trips with a new fuse??? how many different things could ground out causing that to happen??? one thing im not good at is electrical problems!

It could be anywhere... I recomend buying a 20amp circuit breaker fuse ($3) and a fuse holder ($3)You can stick the wire ends in where the "Maxi" style fuse goes, then your not blowing tons of cash buying maxi fuses to trouble shoot.

Im pretty sure its a dead short to ground some where you just need to find it... There is no magical way to do this. Just start shaking the harness and seeing if turning the key doesent blow the fuse... If the car stays live turn off the lights and shake the last place you played with and look for arching

My suggestion is you start by disconnecting the CCRM and fuel pump. If the fuse doesn't blow with them disconnected that will help narrow down the search. If the fuse doesn't blow reconnect the CCRM. If it's still okay the problem will be the fuel pump in this example.

Heres where im at.......... .. I disconnected the computer and the 2 other connectors near it..... fuse didnt blow....... left the computer MAIN harness disconnected but plugged in the other 2 connectors... one black and one grey.... fuse blew instantly........... Sooo with the connectors connected, i took a 40 amp fuse and didnt put it FULLY ion, but enough to get contact.... that CCRM buzzes.. makes a weird buzzing noise....... sooo i connected the computer fully back up.... DISCONNECTED the CCRM and the fuse stays in tact.......

where do i go further thats short of buying a new CCRM from ford for 209.00 bucks and say that doesnt fix the problem... figure if its just a short in the actual wires, it should still ground out to power even with that box not connected right????

well thats where im at... what do you think is my next move??

Wrong, by disconnecting the CCRM and thoes wires your disconnecting the power to many of the other connections in the engine bay.

Do not do this...:nonono: its an easy way to start a fire and/or cause other problems.

The ccrm will buzz when there is a bad ground. Or in your case no ground

Can you give me the pin numbers you unhoked??? Ill check my EVTM today.

well thats where im at... what do you think is my next move??

Did you check the wires on the CPS yet? Im still thinking you have a short in the back pass side of the engine bay...

Where are you in TR? im in Jersey today... Its a little far for me but i might be able to come up.

also the wires on the CPS loook ok....

i forgot to add before..... this problem happened before 4 months ago... i was away for work for a week soo i had it dropped at a shop.... the replaced the CCRM module with a junker oneand it fixed the problem... well for 2 months of driving.. now the ssame thing again........ is there more behind this issue causing it to blow??? or is it just coincidence that my old one and the junker one were on the brink of blowing anyways???? like i said.. ide HATE to pay 209 for a brand new one and have another underlying issue.... i HATEEE electrical problems... i know nothing when it comes to electricalll

This really gotta be the only forum ive ever been on where someone is nice enough to drive an hour away for someone they dont know, to help them out.... thats frickin awesome... hopefully we can tackle this problem!!
