Well, he never said the year, so I took 95 as a middle year. Anyways, even with 280hp, that's not much to play catchup. Buddy of mine I used to run with had about 335 to the front wheels of a FWD 93 Civic and his car was lightened a whole bunch. He also knew his stuff and the engine was only one place he knew how to work. He pulled hard on the highway, but from a dig, he never really could get going, he would front end fishtail at 70mph.

Anyways, the op doesn't seem to have really anything except drag springs to help him get off the line. Now, some UCA's and LCA's with some sicky tires, he has a chance, but othwise he's going to need a bottle of help.

Do we have a race outcome yet? Im saying the fox wins. For 1 reason people lie. Not saying the VW cant make that much HP, but I once and a guy in an 87 Fox Convertible with 10 holes and Tiger paws tell me his car car made 530 HP. Lets just say a Civic has put up a better fight!

Run a short belt to bypass your smog and power steering pump...good for a tenth.

You need a set of heads bad. If you had heads with good lower and upper control arms, you'd have it in the bag.

Even if you just had good upper and lowers, if you could dead hook at a 4G launch and powershifted your way down, you might hold 'em off.

Don't wind it past 5200 with those stock heads, you're just wasting time.
