Hows my setup?

Hey guys I'm moving to the dark side to domestic from imports. I picked up an 88 Mustang LX hatchback. It's currently getting some work done to it and I am wondering what you guys think about the setup.
Do you recommend anything else, anything I have unnecessary?
What should I make to the wheels and what is a reasonable 1/4 with radials and average driving?

I drive with my set up on the street all the time. I dont do any hard cornering though. My import buddy was my insperation to do my suspension because he talks so much crap about AWD vs RWD right now he's runing mid to high 11's where Im in the 12's with my setup. Im not the best driver by no means so you might even be able to get your setup into the 12's or 13's already. I would try to drop as much weight as you can from the front. I think there is a junkyark parts thread on here you could do for cheap upgrades like the 3G alt upgrade, the Mark VIII electric fan & the Aerostar Alu drive shaft. some guys say you need a special you joint for that swap but, I was able to use a stock one as the special one wouldnt fit the shaft I picked up. I have not had an issue with using stock brakes so thats not a big priority of mine yet. that might change once I get the turbo finished up.

Yeah I know the importance of suspension, I loved the cornering ability my 240sx had and I know I won't get that in the 5.0 but I'm going to try to get as close as possible. This thread is really just about what kind of power I can expect to the wheels and what that would translate in the 1/4. And any suggestions on the motor setup I'm going to be running.

Thanks for any input guys.
John

I'm not sure, that's why I mentioned calling Comp, I have a custom grind which is the way to go...no cam expert here, just that the Ford letter cams are old as ****, newer better stuff has come out in the time being....and 20/30hp is alot to ditch, IMO...and my car runs all day long in the city...

Yeah I know what your saying. I'll run the e303 for now and if it turns out I don't like it I will go back in and throw something else in there. What do you think my setup is putting down right now? I plan to have it dyno'd at the next dyno day near me, sometime this summer.

I think I will be happy with the setup now. I'm 19 and coming from a stock 1990 single cammer 240sx. My friends stock 89LX feels quick. I'm sticking with my setup for now and I will upgrade other parts of the car to make it handle better and be able to brake when I want to haha. I just created this thread to make sure I didn't miss any parts that I should get like a FPR or something like that. And also to see what kind of number I'm going to put down. Is 300whp a good goal?
