fan

Good fan, I have used it before. Pretty fat though, if you ever plan on getting a supercharger, it won't fit.

I don't have a factory overflow bottle, so not sure. They give measurements on summit, might be able to figure out. I have an aluminum radiator and high flow water pump so I'm not even sure the fan runs much. Car has trouble reaching tempature when on the road. Sitting in the garage is the only time the thing runs.

For the price, you may want to consider ordering a NEW Contour fan. This will avoid the junk yard aspect, and still get you an awesome fan. They can be bought brand new for half as much and only require a 40amp fuse.

You can buy replacement fan assemblies from a parts store like advance auto. They will prob run you around 140, it'll be a dorman OE replacement style fan with a lifetime warranty.

Yea there is a lot of info around, I personally think the taurus fan is the better way to go for a cheap conservative build. The contour fans usually get expensive because most JY's will charge you for 2 fans, making it double the price of the taurus fan. Also, the contour fans are a little more difficult/expensive to control unless you plan on just turning them both on full blast when the engine reaches 175*(or any certain temp). Not really efficient.

This is the one I used for my taurus fan. Thanks to Mustang5L5 for giving me the link and helping me wire it up. You basically have to use this controller to activate an 85 amp relay. The probe threads into the water outlet, at the top where most have a plug. You can use this for a contour fan setup but you will need to wire up two relays, and you will basically have them both come on full blast at a certain temperature, seems like over kill to me.

I dont have great pics of it but heres what I got. I will see if I can get some updated pics but I used the stock overflow tank. It forms perfectly to the taurus fan and I just used two screw to hold it on. I mounted the controller and relay in the fender. Also posting a wiring diagram I made for wiring up the controller to activate the 85 amp relay. And a link to the instructions for the controller itself.
