I have a 06 Gt that has about 68,000 miles on the original brakes. I went drag racing last week and the next day the dash lights came on.I went the "systems check" and reset it and they went off for a few minutes.I was a fordt tech for about 10 year, but have been out of the loop since 97.

Do worn pads have anything to do with this or is it a wheel speed sensor.

I had a similar experience in my 04 GTO. Tracked it and then threw a CEL. Took everything apart and couldn't find the issue. Reset the code and it never came back. I'm convinced there was dirt/tire on a sensor or something simple.

Try this. Turn on the car and with the radio on press and hold 3 and 6. When it starts the self test press 2 and it should give you the DTC's. (It could be 3). If that does not work stop by your local Autozone and have them read them as they should still be in memory.

If you were using the foot brake for the burn out you can trigger a code. After a few key cycles with out the problem reoccurring the light goes out.

Let us know the codes so we might help.

Even with traction control off, those lights will come on. They come on all the time when those cars are on Dyno's getting tuned for example. Drive it around "normally" for like 25-40 miles. they should go away after a few key cycles.

I drive "normally" 50+ miles a day roundtrip for work, still on.

Traction control switch does not work at this time.
