Help using a non MII stock 302 Oil pan

  • Sponsors (?)

Thanks for the links, do you know which Milodon pan mostly fits? Is it the one I linked to?

Here's hoping someone can share pictures of an early model pan on a 302 in a MII....

There is no 302 oil pan that will fit a stock Mustang II except the original. However if you have a mini-starter and good motor mounts then there is an aftermarket pan that will fit. You'll have to search some of the old threads for the exact manufacturer number. All of the stock oil pans hit on the steering rack and the starter. Some owners have simply dimpled the pan with a hammer in these areas to make it work. I hope that helps.

I bought a stock moroso oil pan. This is the one I have:

Milodon 30720 - Milodon Stock Replacement Oil Pans - Overview - SummitRacing.com

I am about ready to bolt it on to an old block and drop it into the engine compartment to see what hits.

I currently have the mini starter and a manual rack, it looks like it will fit based on my loose measurements, we shall see!

I am not going to go with the 7 quart pan, no way.

I'll take pics to share when I finally get back to working on it..

We need to document this topic with actual pictures. :)

Thanks for all the feedback.

I got a factory stock windsor pan to fit around the power rack with only a little hammer beating. A lot depends on the condition of your motor mounts. If they are badly squished and rotten you are going to have more issues with rack clearence.
