1996 GT Automatic trans issues

I was just helping a friend of mine who has a stock 96 GT automatic. The car runs good but when he attempts to hard accelerate the car studders and spudders and bangs...but does not take off. The car will drive just fine, but its only impacted at full throttle.


Any suggestions??

Not an expert here, but it sounds fuel related. Maybe check the fuel filter?

Check fuel pressure

fuel pressure is pretty steady.....could it be the TPS?
