Difficult to say, exactly. How much oil was sprayed out? Some droplets all over? A thin film? A thick coat of oil? Any photos to show us? Oil usually doesn't spray out very heavy like that unless you have ring blow-by and the crankcase is pressurized because of it. Some questions:

Did your oil dipstick pop out when this happened? Is the dipstick tube loose? Can you wiggle it around easily?

There are some rubber hoses that are behind the intake. Are any of those cracked or disconnected?

it was a pretty thick coat of oil it started at the fuse box and ended on the brake booster and everything below it was cover as well the dip stick i havent checked but there was oil running down it...............and when you pull the dipstick out it smoked does this mean it has too much pressure in the oil pan???

Since this isn't a s/c car you may have some serious issues. However, first re&re the PVC valve and the metal mesh screen at its base. The PVC is located at the rear of the engine and firewall. It's tough to see in there but it is possible. To remove the screen you will need to make a tool that will allow you to grab onto it and pull it upwards.
