Best radiator

I'm putting together and nearing completion of a 67 Convertible. It has a 289 slightly modified (cam, heads, intake, headers) for good street use. It has a C4 with a 3.55 rear. Now I'm ready for a radiator. I would like to use a mechanical fixed blade fan. Bottom line, I need the whole system and I live in the desert, Mesa, AZ, so I need some really good cooling. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Tim

I would go ahead and get a 2 row (1" rows) aluminum radiator and drop in there. Make sure you have a good clutch and shroud installed and you should have no problems. If you want to go copper, get the 4 row....I think both will do you just fine. You could upgrade to a big block style 24" radiator if you felt you needed the extra capacity.

I have a '67 with 289 and the 20" originally. I wanted something stock looking, the only alum. ones I found that didn't look like boxes on top were Griffin and $$$. I went with the '68 302 AC 24" radiator from NPD. It's a 3+ row, not sure what the + is as I can see 3 rows in the cap.

You can either use the '68 upper/lower saddle mounts or make your own side mounts as I did. I went with a solid fan/ thermostatic clutch and shroud. I don't think I'll have any cooling issues.

I had to strip the upper tank for a repaint and liked the raw brass look so much I decided I'll keep it for a while. I still need to paint the straps that come up the side black and give a a spray of clear coat but i like it:

My aluminum radiator does look like a box on top...and I had to slot the mounting holes a little bit to get it to line up....and it was a bit taller than the original radiator, but I am still pleased with it. I have so much other aftermarket crap under the hood it just didn't bother me that much to have the funky looking radiator....just a matter of preference i guess.

I, too used the 24" 3+ row radiator from NPD. Note that it is for 68-70 and thus mounts differently than the 67. You have to get the correct frame mounts. The repop mounts I bought were not even close so I got some OEM ones off ebay.

It keeps my 462 CI big block cool in Houston in the summer. I think it can handle your motor.

Get a Northern from Summit or Mustangs Plus, Great rad and it will fit. Just make sure you have enough air flow. Most Flex fans will leave you short on air flow. I have a aggressive flex fan and had to add an electric pusher. Best solution would be the largest electric with shroud set up to pull not push air, that will fit the radiator
