was coming home from work and about 3 miles from my house my motor blew. i dont even have a killer story of me getting down or anything... just accelerating moderately and at 65 mph in fourth it just blew. blue smoke, bottom end rattling and of course dead engine. so far just by looking at under my hood after i got it back home, the vacuum line from my fpr came off and i guess with the heat and me not adjusting my tune, motor leaned out and poped. but with the speed i was going im just baffled that it did with the force that i felt. any who, seeing how theres oil all over my control arms and on the road, im guessing the block is shot, so im going to put in a 351 in time with my blower. again, not an exciting story of me going down in glory lol, but i have another project now i guess.

i already have an idea what im going to do with the 351. ill reuse my heads hopefully if they are still in tact and not ate up from any debris that might have got caught between the piston and combustion chamber. well just pretty much all of my upper end, maybe upgraded cam and add the blower later on. hopefully i will have better luck. illl try to keep everything posted.

well i jacked the car up and as i was putting the stands under the car, i saw the problem instantly. there was a big hole on the right side of the oil pan. as i layed under disconnecting harnesses, i pulled piston rings, a severely bent rod cap just on one finger probe. theres still debris in the pan, im just curious to see the rest of the damage in the block. i already pulled the intake off and found fragments in the upper and oil and coolant residue in the intake and throttle body. im for certain the block is shot, which i figured anyway. oh well, i guess its time for another project.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you'll be able to salvage the top end parts from that engine and transplant them onto a new bottom end.
Seeing that brown emulsion in the intake and TB tells me that it's likely you've blown a piston, broken a rod, and holed a cylinder wall so it's likely the block is trashed.
It's only when you continue the teardown that you'll find out what the real damage is and what's salvageable.
