Air Charge Temperature Sensor on Spyder Intake Question

I am doing the Carb to EFI swap and I'm using a Spyder (Victor Clone) carb intake modified for EFI but there is no provision for the Air Charge Temperature sensor. I am thinking of mounting it in the Intake elbow nearest to the manifold. Would this create any type of problem that anyone is aware of? I could also tap the Intake at the base but since it's already installed I would have to remove it to do that. If I can just mount it in the intake elbow without issue I will just do that.

I found a few pics on the web of others using this intake and placing the Air Temp sensor in the intake elbow so I think it's safe to go this route unless anyone has had issues doing this...

Thanks

I just read the following on another site about the IAT sensor. Since I don't have the EGR system any longer is the IAT even needed? I'd rather dump it if I don;t need it and it's not doing anything...

IAT Function:
This temperature-probe sensor helps the computer regulate exhaust-gas recirculation based on incoming-air temp.

off topic a little but, we are doing about the same set up for the intake. Have you come up with a way to mount the throttle cable? I dont have room for an EGR spacer on mine & haven't fabbed up anything to hold the throttle cable yet.

Haven't gotten that far yet. I have everything except for the intake elbow so I haven't been able to mock up how to do the throttle yet.

Thanks for all the info!

I was thinking about what I said about putting the AIT sensor in the elbow. I plan on using meth injection which is supposed to have the nozzle before the throttle body. If I put the IAT sensor in the elbow behind the TB, I will be spaying liquid methanol on an electrical component. That sounds like a very bad idea so Im going to put my sensor a little further up stream than the meth nozzle. You might want to do this too since you mentioned boosting it later. No since having to install the sensor twice & have to plug the first hole.

In some of the pictures I have seen they either stuck it in the elbow or down further on the intake. There's no room on my intake to put it in one of the cylinder runners like it was on the factory intake. I hate having to pull the intake back off to drill it there... I my shoot for the elbow for now.
