borgenson steering conversion with Z-bar

Has anyone installed a borgenson power steering box with a Z bar for a manual trans?

This ought to be interesting, by my figuring, there's less than an inch between the box and the upper arm of the equalizer.

Does that mean it wont work ? and how about clearance with the power steering hoses ?

Doesn't it state on the description that itnwontnfit with z-bar? I swear I was reading at chponyparts today and it said it didn't fit.

You are correct this is right from the web site

Does anyone need some new old stock Z-Bar parts?

According to te tech guy, I think his name is Gil, at Borgeson, it's close enough to fitting and they don't rule out that an imaginative soul might be able to mod things enough for it to work, but they don't make and did not engineer a mod. I say go hydraulic. Is your car a T5, top loader or a three speed? What year is your car and do you have power or manual brakes? Let us know. I may be able to point you in a fairly easy and inexpensive hydraulic direction.

A custom bent hard line would provably clear with 3/4" of space. If you got 1" and bent/flaired the lines yourself you could provably make it work.

It will be a 5.0 with a T5 and the motor and trans are out so it's a good time to make mods. The pedals are also out of the car and so far I have manual brakes. Thanks

I would also suggest going Hyd. as I did although for different reasons. I have a T56 which uses an old style top loader bellhousing so it was my only option but it adds to the restomod (updated) feel of the car. Your going to love the Borgeson Box
