Thought I'd give you an update for those doing research on a Naturally Aspirated setup with the TrickFlow Specialty 4.6 Twistwed wedge heads. Especially when the knowledge is scarce for these particular heads, even on the web. Had another tuner tweak the car, this time on a Mustang Dyno. The first was on a DynoJet Meter and I wasn't really impressed with the numbers and drivability especially knowing that DynoJet numbers are usually more exaggerative of the truth. It put down 341RWHP and 301TQ The second tune is like night and day. Driviability is way up considering the stg2 cams and it pulled 345RWHP and 297TQ on a tune that is nortorious for displaying low numbers compared to other dyno's. The beast kept pulling. But they stopped at 6500rpms due to the stock internals. The hp never really leveled before that. So theres more to be had. Stock fuel system is still within limits but if I were to go NO2 or Boost of any sort then an upgrade is mandatory not to mention a forged bottom end. Stock throttle body flows more than enough and I'm thinking any bigger wouyld actually cause a loss of vacuum. Also I contemplated going with a larger MAF sensor but after flow test the computer showed that the stock sensor was not pegging but like stated earlier any boost or NO2 would require an upgrade. Its fun to see this little NA 2V pull the way she does. Although she is a work in progress and she is by no means putting down boosted numbers she pulls nicely for the street and occassional strip. Hope this helps any looking at similar setups...oh and she sounds sick on the dyno:D

Who was the first person to tune your car in SA? Tim and Tracy is the only people I have gone to and I have been more than happy with them as it sounds you are too!

I went to another tuner north of town. You can probably guess who as there aren't a whole lot of in the SA area. But I wont put their name out there like that...they were nice and all but just not what I was looking for as far as tuning. And I agree Tracy and Tim are awesome.

So your running a stock 4v or 2v throttle body?

I've been comparing my dyno chart to yours, except I have stock PI heads, PI manifold, and no UD pulleys. My car has 25 more hp and torque on the lower end and torque peaks about 1000rpm sooner. By 6000rpm your car has 25 more hp and tq, and by 6500 50 more lb ft of torque and 70 hp. So you could say that's how much hp and tq the heads and manifold add.

Glad I saw this thread.. I haven't been on in about 2 years, haven't driven the Mustang on a regular basis in about as long. I haven't done a single mod to the Mustang in almost 5 years. But, lately i've been wanting to get back into the mods and stuff - looking at heads, didn't know what was what anymore.

Any idea on a new intake manifold for these motors?

There really wasn't anything I knew of before when I last did my mods, so I just stopped doing mods until a real intake and a reliable set of heads had come out.

Any idea on clutches for a N/A car?

To be honest, the intakes is still the weakest aftermarket area on our cars I think. The typhoon piece is junk from what people have told me in my threads so steer clear of that one. I think if you are going to do the trickflow heads the logan motorsports piece would be the best solution. I do not have experience but it seems to be the only piece that people would recommend for our cars. Here is a link to their site: Logan Motorsports - SCT Tuning

The TFS track heat killed the mid range torque, but contributed above 6k rpm, that's why power keeps climbing. Pretty much the same with Edelbrock. P-51 and Bullitt manifolds will pick up mid range power better.

As for clutches, if I would suggest a Promotion or 03-04 cobra.

Nice to see you back on here Jason. Are you back in Russellville?

i like the spec clutches myself, some people dont and thats their opinion and they are entitled to that. i have not personally had any issues out of it. The one thing with clutches is to make sure that you break them in properly just like any other component on a car.
