T-5 swap

I know you guys get a lot of threads about t5 swaps. I have a 65 coupe with a 302. I would like to put a t5 in there but was wondering if i need to use a spacer plate or not. I will be using the bellhousing that came with the t5. I was told that i need a spacer plate but i think thats not right. Anything would be very helpful. Thanks.

Make sure you replace the aluminum bearing retainer with a steel one! Ask 2+2GT how I know that. ;)

+1 on everything else. You will need a crossmember, trans mount and possibly shorten your driveshaft (make sure to measure after the trans is installed and the car is sitting the ground, as me how I know ;) ).

Depending upon whether you stay with the mechanical linkage, go to a cable or hydraulic system will determine some other steps as well. Good luck!

If your trans/bell housing combo didn't come with one, you will need a block plate. It's the thin sheet metal or aluminum plate that goes in front of the flywheel, between the engine block and bellhousing. They're pretty cheap on fleabay. What flywheel and clutch are you planning?
