Just got the car back up and running and a couple days ago it died while trying to leave the house and I smelled raw fuel so I popped the hood and noticed fuel everywhere. Pushed it in the garage and started looking at it and noticed my #1 injector was not seated properly in the fuel rail (not sure how it happened but was a easy fix). Car runs fine but now it is having transmission problems. If you leave it in Drive it act's like its in 1st gear and unless you really romp on it then it wont shift into 2nd. If you drop it down to 2nd then it shifts fine into 2nd. Wont shift into any other gears.

Is there anything in the engine compartment that could have gotten wet from fuel and caused a shifting issue?

There is nothing to connect the transmission to spraying gasoline as described. There is no vacuum line to the transmission. I would suspect a bad or sticking solenoid in the tranny. However, before taking it apart or going to a tranny place check and adjust the shift cable linkage.

Tonight I drove it home from work (six blocks) and had it in Drive trying to see how it was acting...about half throttle it will shift into second but no drive or overdrive. Full throttle or barely any it will remain as it is still in first gear. If you put it down into second tho it shifts immediately into second tho.
