So here's the rundown of the car. Its an 86 coupe with an 86 302 and an 86 speed density computer in it, which is a VR1 for a manual car. And it has a c-4 transmission in it, which will hopefully be changed to a manual in the future.

According to the vin and door codes the car is an original 4 cylinder, 4 speed manual car. Anyways all the wiring is in the right place, hooked up to the appropriate places, except a few places.

Which leads to my code 67 that I get when KOEO. The car obviously has the neutral safety switch bypassed, as the car will start in any gear, so from the process of elimination I assume the a/c not being there is the problem. I removed the a/c because the only thing there was the compressor. The wires to it are still visible, hanging out over the valve covers to the plug which was hooked to the compressor.

Is there any way to fix this issue? Would just connecting the two ends of the wire together work?

I really need to check the codes as it's not running right and this is the big pita that I just can't get past

And question two, which should be less complicated. I do not have a kickdown cable or rod for the c-4 and have no idea where to get one. Could someone please advise me where exactly to find one? or what I need to use.

as far as the kickdown cable, this is the best i could find. both lokar parts, would these two part numbers work? TCB-40EFI is the bracket and kd-10c4ht is the cable itself? Anyone?

Check Pin 30 at the Computer while cranking the engine over. It should read 12v will cranking, if not, then that is probably why you have code 67. Code 67 only shows up from the AC if its on, which is picked up by another circuit going to the ECM.

I actually got the issue figured out from some guys that are familiar with the 86 computer I have and since it's a manual computer it needed a jumper wire from pin 30 connected to pin 46. Car now pulls codes while running and runs 100% better with no surging idle at all.

And for anyone looking for the kickdown cable for a c-4 tranny and an efi setup, the Lokar part number is KD-20C4TP
