This might be more talk than tech but here goes. I'm looking at an 08 GT to replace my 97 Cobra. I love my Cobra but I need something that will travel the highway without killing my back. The 08 GT I'm looking at is bone stock, meaning it's sitting up like a 4x4. What springs would bring it down about an inch and still ride nice??
Thanks in advance.

I have tried Steeda Ultralites and BMR springs. To my surprise, even with Tokicos' adjustables the steedas rode way too harsh. The BMR's have a closer to stock spring rate, they rode well but lowered her a little too much for a comfortable ride (roads suck here). Too bone-jarring, at least for my taste. I finally ended up with stock front springs and Roush rear springs, using koni strt shocks all around. This combo leveled out the stance. Handles great and rides nice and smooth, not harsh at all. I also went to Continental DW Extreme Contact Tires, big difference in ride quality. I love them.

I replaced springs in my 09gt last year with FRPP "P" springs 1" drop . ride was worse than stock for sure , but our roads up here are crap.
Picked up Toycio D Spec adjustables last fall & just installed them yesterday. Wow what a improvement But I am sure any quality shock is better than stock.

I am now very happy with this combo. Also have ability to play with them as they are adjustable.
The P springs are progesive rate with a 1" drop .
The K springs are not ?? I think more a race type stiffer I believe would be rough on crappy roads.

Just my 2cents

Take parchisi's advice with the Steeda Sports and Koni Sports (aka yellows). If you can't afford the yellows, try the STR.T. They are both on sale at the moment, try stranoparts.com. The yellows are backordered at the moment. I am waiting on a set. I am replacing my strut mounts with the Steeda HD mounts as well. The stock ones are known to fail, which makes an annoying popping noise.
