And I do apologize to wmburns. I was frustrated after spending 2 hours trying to figure out how to make it work, and I m also apologizing to trombonedemon, ateup, twogts4us and trinity Gt for the unconvience. Wmburns, I spliced into the dome
Light which runs behind the front passenger side pillar, there are 3 wires I spliced into the black with white strip
As it is the one that controls the main light, other wire is ground and the last wire is for the 2 convience lights that accompany the dome light. Thanks for ur help n But still **** you Kilgore trout!!!!
At the risk of beating a dead horse. I do pride myself on the quality of the technical advice given. I take the time to look up and verify everything before posting. But my reference library does have limitations.

I have electronic versions for the 1996, 2000, and 2002/2003 Model years. I typically use the 2002/2003 MY references because the diagrams can be posted online. For the most part, the 2002/2003 manuals work for the 1999-2001 MY's but there are some differences.

When the reply about a missing Pin #3 and no BK/WH wire came up, I thought that it was a difference in the MY's. However, I went back and compared the wiring diagrams between 2000 and 2002 and did not find a difference. Both had GEM pin #3 listed with a BK/WH wire. Conclusion? The wiring diagrams are good enough for this problem.

Now...the OP stated that a BK/WH wire to the dome was intercepted. Just not at the expected location. I contend it is the same wire.

As for an explanation? Is it possible the OP was looking at a different module?

Based upon the additional research, I stand by my original post. And oh by the way, I withdrawl the offer for a 100% refund. :stick:

Now onto the horse beating. :dead:

To stang4life99; I usually try not to call ppl out on the forums. It seems to just lead to non-productive stuff like this. Having said that, your reply to the original post mearly parroted my post. This gave the impression that it was not READ. If the follow-up had asked for additional information beyond what was in the first reply, things would have been different.

I am glad that you stuck with it and figured it out for yourself. This is what the hobby is all about. In all seriousness most of us learn more from the difficult projects than the simple ones. I trust your lady freind was impressed.

To timeless2, Kilgore Trout, Ateup, twogts4us, trombonedemon, trinity_gt; thank-you for the kind words and for sticking up for me. :grouphug:
