My Ls6 Stang goes [email protected] pic & pics

Edit: To all you haters, would you go to someone in person and start telling them they're stupid to their faces? The keyboard can sure show the true personality of people :)

I have called nobody stupid in this thread. I just pointed out that this is Fox 5.0 Talk. I make it a point to never type anything on the internet that I wouldn't say to someone in person. The club I used to belong to did a show every year where anything Ford-powered was welcome. I had no problem telling the guys with the SBC-powered Ford street rods that we didn't have a place for them.

Theres plenty of threads in fox 5.0 talk that have nothing to do with mustangs at all! Nobody says a word then. There are lots of cars in here that are no longer 5.0's anymore.

It amazes me that some of you guys wouldnt say a word if someone had a junk chinese intake on thier car that directly rips off an American design, but when someone puts another American powerplant in, you all start whining like a 15 year old girl who just had her nail polish taken away.

So build a ford with all chinese parts, thats fine, but put an American made motor in that runs low 10's on a small shot and its a no-no.

While others just argue for the sake of arguing... If you wanna put a LS in your car, go ahead. It's not up to me or anyone else. Open a thread and expect a one sided conversation praising the cleverness of it... Probably not. Someone's reasoning for putting that motor in that car are to him/her probably just as good as my reasons for not doing it.

Flip a coin... ya got just as much chance of being... Uh... 'right'?

If you can't keep it in your pants for a LSx go buy a damn 3rd gen and do an LS swap.

If you're going to go buy a chevy engine thats been put in a fox (because you just love the way fox's look) expect to be harassed about it. (especially if you go posting it on a mustang site.)

For a little while in college, I was friends with a guy who was friends with a guy that had a '79 Fairmont with a 355 Chevy in it. Thing ran 9s on a huge shot of spray. I ended up hanging out with him a few times just because he was a friend of a friend, and yes, we used to have debates about the car face-to-face. No, we never threw punches, but the discussions would get heated. However, that was more because HE loved rubbing it in OUR faces. I would always try to hold my tongue, but he would LOVE to make snide comments about how "the car would never be this fast with a Ford engine", and LS swap knuckle draggers tend to have the same attitude.

Look, build a car however you want. It's not my business. Just don't expect to come touting it in my face as "better" and not receive any resistance.

big deal, there have been stock block 302's with internals go 9's, actually alot of them have. It dosent matter though, my 98gt on the southside, ran down about 25+ F body's last year, cammed, geared, whatever, and when the spray came out and the slicks, I personally ****ed up alot of their "ls" crew, and alot of them now wont run anything im in just from that, but they still have the baddest mullet, 10 bolt garbage, ****ty interior, ****hole body of a car. The only thing about the car that is good is the engine and they know it.

You're wrong. LS motors are hard running motors, but the cheapest way? No. 130 mph traps shouldn't be a problem with 500 rwhp. That can be done with a 302W for much cheaper than an LS swap, especially considering you probably already have the motor and the computer, but I admit that you'd be running the possibility of splitting the block. A built 351 would be a better way to go. Start with a $100 junkyard block and pick your poison: n/a stroker, nitrous, blower, or turbo. The LS1 definitely has advantages over a motor like this, but cheaper isn't one of them.

Chris

Debate is what makes this place fun. Nobody is expecting everybody to like what somebody has done just because it's fast.

Otherwise we may as well all hold hands and sing around the campfire w/ the rest of the campfire girls

Chris,

I'm not holding up the torch for an installed LS motor over a ford combo as a "cheaper" build. I was calling you out because you told dude he could build a 500 whp N/A stroker windsor cheaper than a junkyard LS.

There have been article after article touting junkyard LS builds that make that HP on the bottle for around 3k from a salvage yard.
Induction makes the power, and Junkyard windsors fall woefully short of the potential of any air movement capable of making 600 FWHP regardless of how damn much nitrous you ram down it.

And you don't know why everybody is hating on 302's here lately? It was your suggestion above that 302's were prone to breakage, maybe that's where some people might get it in their head.
As for me, I have personally had a 393 w/ a cracked main saddle at around 650 FWHP. Just because there are a bunch running all day with more doesn't mean that there aren't a bunch of dead ones in the bottom of a lake either.

I don't have a thing for this thread, regardless of how many replies I've made here. I don't have a thing for chevy either. And after looking at your sig, I understand that you have more than a Mustang in your garage.

I do have a thing for people getting all bent out of shape because somebody does something different and immediately gets dogged for straying beyond the warm and fuzzy of good ole ford blue.

This forum is full of that. EFI over carbs, notches over hatches, pushrods over OHC's.

For people to be on the side of complacency and ask "why don't we all just get along" and agree to disagree?
I'd go one further.
How bout if you don't have anything positive to say, why not say anything?

But then how fun would that be?

LOL I knew it would turn into this. Ok first things, how did i get my 60' down. Well still same old setup, just 2 less pounds of air and better track prep.

Now as far as costs it can go 1 million ways honestly. I know from experience that it was more for me to make my ford motor get as much hp with out boosting it. This is my 3rd Mustang. Ive had a 5.0 89 GT and a 03 Roush with Novi 2000. Im not gonna get to fair into it figuring i said i had a 306 built and it was still over 5grand...

Now why im posting on "Fox 5.0 Talk" Show me where it says conversions & hybrids on here? and ill post there. I figured more people would want to know more about the 60 ft or the power not argue this entire time.

Just incase anyone is curious i footbraked and sprayed to get that 60 ft. No trans brake.. And yes this is a street car I drove it over 100 miles last week. I know there are people interested in things they can do to their fox and this is one of them..

Oh and you can go get a truck 5.3L ls.. complete for like 1grand... put a 150 shot on it and be over 500whp. So it can be done cheap and with good power.

As far as me and this car... well i may not have turned every nut and bolt but i turned half of them ... I have blood and lots of unwanted money in this build... Sorry that i found a good deal on one with a motor already put in.. ( i did the entire harness and wiring) If it makes you feel better ill pull the motor out .. pull the heads off... throw it back together and then will that be good enough.. lol:bs:

OHH and too the guy that knows me aka FAST DRIVER and know i dont have a clue, Ive had a 89 notch for over 2 years thats getting a 421 SBC with 726 N/A hp SWAP im pretty sure i have alot more of a clue than you on this topic.

:pee:on this thread.... If you wanted to make a light car go fast buy a honda and drop that LSx in it. People are easily making high power with big and small block Ford engines for cheap. It's all about want and know how. You wouldn't take home a chick that used to be a dude would ya?

:nono: Yea obviously you dont read much, so just read this. I like mustangs ive had them since 01, I like how easy they are to setup and i am familiar with them. I know every bolt even on the 5.0 like the back of my hand. Just cause i threw a different powerplant in it alllll the haters flock. I figured someone might be interested in the setup. And this is NOT a cheap setup I am running. It makes great power for the price but cheap LOL no. So you buy a honda if you think its all about lightweight and power cus theres alot more to setting up a good street/strip car. Oh and remember when I am beating on chevy cars they all think its a just a mustang beating them.
