93 mustang swap 4cyl to 8cyl

iam going with carbs and which is a better head Patriot or Edelbrock E-street heads i might do somthing down the road as performance which head would help me out the most. gt40p heads every 1 in there motor and grandmother have them heads now what cam should i go my bother got the e303 cam i dont like how it sound like its not choppy enuff i want somthing that u can hear i want the body of the car to shake hard lol

They are both crappy sets of heads, neither of which are worthy of a 351. Do a google search of them both and you will see all the negativity on them. I haven't seen the E streets up close, but know people with serious issues with them, but i have seen the patriots and they are a mess, you get what you pay for.
Cnc twisted wedges and afr 185's would be the best choices.
No point in killing yourself to make this 351 work just to get so so power.

You current plan sounds like you are going to drop quite a bit of money and the car really isn't going to be all the quick.
Don't think it doesn't happen, because it does, someone buys an old 351, slaps a bunch of mediocre parts on it, and now they have a car that's heavier and doesn't go much faster than a bolt on 302.

A purpose built from the ground up 351 based engine can be extremely fast, but one that isn't very well thought out can be very slow.

My advice would be to get a donor 5.0 car and take all the necessary parts to convert it to a efi v8, including all engine harness's, fuel lines, computer.
Piecing it together will take forever.
I bet you can get a parts car for $500 or less that comes without the trans or engine.

iam not going to spend a tone of money iam just looking for a simple set up nothigng crazy carbs intake cam maybe good heads stock bottom end

You think you aren't going to spend a ton of money, but trust me, the cash will start disappearing quickly.

Consider this option, get a used explorer engine, swap out the cam, get yourself a decent t5 and then convert the accessories to foxbody style, then do the standard 4 to 8 conversion (efi) on the car.

I bet it won't be much slower if any than the 351 you want to do, it will be easier, cheaper, lighter and i bet you finish it twice as fast so you can enjoy it.

Then while you are enjoying the car and finish working the bugs out, start building yourself a nice 351 based on the engine you picked up.

May not be what you want to hear, but the 351 you picked up, has little value and most of it can't be used in a fox.

Neither Patriot nor Edelbrck E- streets are junk....They must have had a bad machine shop work on them or sumthin. I know a couple guys that are runnin patriot and have had no probs. I dont know any1 with the E-streets but the used them on a build in MMFF. They are 170cc heads but they can be ported out to b pretty close to 200cc, Im pretty sure. The E-streets are manufactured in tha same facility as the perfomer and performer RPM heads and cast from the same A356 aluminum, so you wud expect the same quality. 1 of my friends is runnin stock bottom end, summit stage 1 intake, patriot heads, long tubes b303 cam, and hes ran a best of 7.88 E.T 1/8 mile.

It may be as quick with the 5.0, but eventually you're gonna want more power trust me. You start make more power, and more power, and then u start to blow the 5.0 apart and then ur pretty much in the same boat, do you wanna build another 5.0 and blow it apart to,,,,, no!!! You are gonna want something stronger ( 351), and then you'll be wishing that you had started with the 351 instead of the 302, after youve alresdy droped you money in it. If you dont think eventually you're gonna wanna make some serious power ( say 500hp ), then the 302 will so you good, just keep it under 450hp!!! With the 351 u got a solid platform just incase u need it dwn the road.

Any real machine shop will tell you that the patriot heads are garbage compared to other heads on the market.

As for the E streets, they are meant to be run with flat tappet cams only.

90fox, i understand where you are coming from with the desire for power, but rome wasn't built in a day, and if you swing for the fences from the get go, you may not get a hit at all. A car you make too elaborate, complicated or too expensive may never get finished at all.

And BTW, since you are all about future growth, realize that neither of those sets of heads are optimal for future use with a bigger better engine.
The Wedges and afr's are on the other hand.

Not to be a dick or anything bro, but can you please spell out your words, and use better sentence structure. This isn't a text message where you are limited to 160 charcters. It is very hard for some of us here to figure out what you are saying. Takes the same amount of time to do it right then do it wrong.

Again, not trying to be harsh or anything, but it makes it easier to take someone seriously when they take time to form proper sentences.

To the original poster why not just buy a 5.0 fox and call it done. They are all over craigslist and usually not too expensive. Unless your car is a super nice pristine condition notch and is worth all the money you will spend to do the swap.

I can agree with this train of though.
