Hey guys, I have a 1965 Mustang with a 351W and T5 that im looking to put some more power into. Heres the current setup, its basically setup just for cruising now, but would love to be anywhere from 375-400's hp, without completely killing the driveability.
1988 351W/ Refurbished, not even 350 miles on it
Holley 670 cfm Street Avenger
Edelbrock 351W Performer intake
Stock Cast iron heads
RV Cam/ Very very mild
Federal Mogul Pistons/ 9:1 Compression
I really just want to see if i can change the top end and go to a different set of aluminum heads. I was thinking either Canfield 195cc, AFR's 180cc or 205cc, also Patriots as well. And for the can i was looking at a Comp cam Magnum Hydrualic Flat Tappet 280H or 292H. I am also running a 7" Power booster, with a dual bowl master cylinder so i dont no how that big of a cam will work with the vaccumm from what ive been told, or to use a vaccumm Reservoir? The specs on the cams are 244/244 at .050" lift for the 292H and 230/230 at .050" lift for the 280H. I dont want to go to a roller just because of the expense factor even though they are great power makers. I could use all the help you guys have, i really want to make the right choice on this setup, and would like to hear what everyone else is running. Thanks CJ
