My GT wants to die out at low speeds...Please help!

A few days ago my alternater went out. I replaced it, but now my car seems like it wants to die out at low speeds or whenever I stop at a light. Once I get on the gas and go, the car drives fine. It has died out on me three times while driving under 10 mph in the past two days but starts right up every time.

Today I had the battery and alternater tested and they both checked out fine. My car is an 07 gt auto. I have about 90k miles on it with only an exhaust as far as mods go. I have had the car since new and this is the first time that I experience this.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Make sure the battery is fully charged.

If it's ok, then you may have disconnected the battery when the alternator was replaced. If so, the ECU has to re-learn the idle strategy whenever it's disconnected. It normally takes 20-30 miles of driving to complete the re-learning process. There's also a procedure in the battery maintenance section of the owner's manual that facilitates this process.

If that doesn't help, then the TB may need to be cleaned.

If the battery boot doesn't work, definitely try cleaning the TB. If that fails, try purchasing a new Throttle Position Sensor. I'm on my third one. I fried the 1st one washing my engine bay, the 2nd one FORD put in died after 3-4 months. I bought my 3rd one from Autozone, since the TPS from Ford comes attached to a new TB = Expensive. I think the TPS from Autozone was $75. Go that route first, if that doesn't work then it may be time for a new TB.
