Let me ask, how old are you? I grew up with fox bodies around and remember seeing the very first redesigned 94 mustangs hitting the streets. It was a big deal then, plus I was 12. haha

I'm just wondering if you don't like fox bodies because you didn't see them growing up, or know what they were capable of. From about 86 to 92, the 5.0 was king of the road with few cars that could touch it. Even the much more expensive corvette was comparable at that time. Maybe just something you have to experience. But I do agree, the 79-86 mustangs weren't the best lookers. I like the aero cars a lot better, but still have a soft spot for bright red GTs with T-tops and black stripes.

I'm not thrilled. But I guess I'm the only one?

I thought the fox bodies from the 80s and early 90s were some of the ugliest Mustangs Ford should have aborted! They looked more like Ford Escorts than Mustangs.

Personally, I think the SN95 and the NEW 2010 and up stangs are the best looking ones.

And personally, if they make them as small as the fox bodies of yesteryear, they can keep them.

But...that's just MY opinion.

I am 28, and although I was young around that time, I do remember when there seemed to be 3 foxbodies to every 1 other car on the road. I don't know....I just NEVER liked them at all. I guess it's just me. But I do understand what you're saying (about the age thing).

I still think the SN95 and newer stangs are the best looking ones (besides the old classics of course).

I wonder what they'll do with it, especially with the new CAFE standards on the horizon. I'm sure that we'll see a less extreme version of the Mustang for a few years and then they'll come up with something really cool again.

I still can't believe that technology has allowed car manufacturers to produce well over 1 HP/CID w/o resorting to some kind of forced induction. I mean I was impressed when the C5 Z06 came out with 405 hp from a 5.7L pushrod engine, now Ford has produced an engine that makes more horsepower in only 5.0L all while maintaining driveability, low end torque, and allowing the driver to run 87 or 93 octane fuel. I really am excited to see what kind of engines will be out in 10 years time. Due to technology it seems like an engine computer can be programmed to make intricate calculations on fuel and air quantity, cam timing, spark timing, etc... which all maximizes performance at any RPM. I sometimes wonder if there is a possibility for variable length intake manifolds that will actually change shape, cylinder heads that can change the size of the intake and exhaust ports, and cam timing that is capable of changing the centerline, lift, duration, and LSA in the matter of milliseconds. If these things are possible you could in theory create an engine with maximum efficiency at every RPM point. That not only would increase mileage, but performance as well... anyways...

You can put a good engine in an ugly car, still makes it an ugly car. It will be a fast ugly car but an ugly car at that.
