McDan's Notch 408w build

It's been a few years since i've really done anything to my car. I converted it from 4cyl to 5L about 2 or so years ago, drove it daily for about a year. I parked the car to do a manual to C4 swap and this is where it alll started. I ended up picking up a longblock roller 351w for $50 just to have it for future use.

Well that idea lasted about 3 days and off it went to the machine shop.

I ordered an Eagle 408w kit from Frank at super engine builders up in IL. Ordered it with a few options, eagle armor, L19 bolts, 0 balanced, sfi flexplate and SFI damper. Picked up a plethora of stuff from Summit as well. AFR 225 58cc's, Eddy Vic. Jr., AED 850 H.O., Meizere electric w/p, msd distributor, etc.

I had Bob at D&D make a custom set of headers from my fox since AFR 225's have the larger bolt pattern. Along with the custom headers, I needed to install a manual rack and flaming river shaft for clearance issues.

Ordered a roll cage from Jegs along with a set of BBK subframe connectors with the seat brackets. I bought a 94 GT roller and took the front spindles and rear brakes. I did a total rear end rebuild. I used SN95 length Moser axles in 31 spline, with the 31 spline FMS Cobra carbon fiber unit. Topped it off with FMS 4.10's. I welded the axle tubes, and swapped the rear disc brakes over to my 8.8 housing after fitting it with all new bearings and seals.

I did a torque box reinforcement kit from UMI yesterday and welded it all up so I could install the rear end. I bolted it in today with some tubular upper and lower control arms. I have done much much more than I have typed and I'm sure I have left some things out.

I guess it's time for some pictures since I made you read all of that!

I will start off with the oldest picture of the car I have.

Be careful with the L19 bolts, they need to stay constantly oiled, they are effected by mositure very quickly, if you blow a headgasket or have issues, make sure you flush the motor throughly or youll be replacing the bolts. One reason I usually just use and recommend a ARP2000 on a street car....
